Costume Information

My parents bought me this costume for a birthday present - it is secondhand, bought from Phalor/Claranee - her costume entry is here (http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/costume/view/49769). As you can see it had been commissioned - I don't know off who, I will ask when I get the chance. I saw that she was selling this and I've always wanted to cosplay a Disney princess, and I much prefer the blue dress to the pink, and it was the right size, so tada! I had a wig that I could use for this but it sadly got too tangled to be re-worn - but it was too long and yellow and not-great quality to begin with. So I will be buying a new wig. I already have two pairs of blue shoes I could wear, heels and flats - I will have to make the necklace, but that shouldn't be difficult. Not sure where I'll wear this, perhaps October Expo.

It just HAS to be the blue one, it's such a nice colour (blondes look good in blue imo) aaa thank you very much!

The pink one is so dull in comparison! You suit blue as well so this cosplay will be adorable! When are you planning it for? :)

That tone of pink can be really unflattering too :( Ah, thank you! I don't know, I haven't really thought about it? If I can get a hotel for Expo probably then, depends on how much it weighs & how comfy it is. I'm really excited! Tbh Aurora is my least favourite Disney princess, but eep, being a Disney princess for a day is going to be SO much fun!

Looks great and it really suits you. I've always prefered the blue dress to the pink. I hope I get to see you if you take it to expo, I'm (sortof) planning Merida for it - I like to see another princess. :)

@Xephios; oh man thank you sweetheart!

@Eatmethoubean; thank you very much!

@puzzledpenguin; Thank you so much! I'm glad so many people like the blue too :) I'm hopefully wearing it on the Sunday of Expo if I can get the petticoats and skirt in a bag with my Peej! Would that be your Disney Dresspheres Merida? You're going to look so amazing - I wish I could go to Aya, it'd be amazing to see the group. I hope it's going to be as fun being a princess as I imagine it is :)

The pink is so typical as well, I really like that you've gone for blue it's so pretty. I hope you manage to get a hotel for expo. I'm having the crisis of money and every hotel being so expensive. We have a disney group for the saturday in October just incase you do decide to do it and want to hang about with us <3

I really wish they used it in the parks ;-; I have managed to get a hotel, yay! The London Docklands Travelodge with three other girls, it was pretty reasonable. I'm having a bit of a crisis with rent money but my stepmum offered to pay for the hotel for me bless her heart ;-; I would love to join the group but I've had Power Girl planned for Saturday for so long - I want to see what day the DC meet is on and arrange Aurora around that but I'll definitely come say hi and get some photos! :D

I do too! The dress would look amazing in the parks. I'm glad you got a hotel! I'm hoping sami will sort something out, if not a friend has offered to put us up so it's all good. Your step mum is a saint! Ahh no worries! I love what I've seen of Power Girl you look so cute with the short wig! I'll look out for you as well <3

So I saw in the forums you'll probably be wearing this on Sunday. If you do then we may have to meet up because I'm doing Maleficent.

Shopping List

Wig has arrived (Posted 21st August 2013)

And it's gorgeous! Will hopefully style it soon.

Necklace failed :( (Posted 27th July 2013)

Sadly once I spray-painted the necklace the detail disappeared into a big blobby mess and I couldn't fix it so I've made another plain necklace (which is so much easier to put on) and hopefully that will dry pretty. I've also ordered a wig from cosplaydna on ebay which is apparently good. I went for a more sandy beige blonde than golden yellow blonde because I've ordered a yellow-blonde wig before and it was just too yellow and unnatural and didn't need to be that bright. Also in the actual film especially in "Once Upon a Dream" you can tell her hair is more sandy than gold. I don't know how easy it's going to be to style but I've looked at some "fluffy bangs" tutorials and I think I know roughly what I want to do. I'll go at it with normal hairspray and hair clay until I have a rough shape worked out and then go in with got 2 b glued.

Sigh. (Posted 27th July 2013)

So work on necklace mark IV has begun.

Mark 1: Cardboard that turned out too creased to look good.
Mark 2: Sculpey - details didn't show up well and made it look mucky.
Mark 3: Sculpey rolled too thin, promptly fell apart.
Mark 4: Spotted some craft foam in Asda and now Mark 4, made from a sheet of foam with taped-on magnetic attachments, should be sealed tomorrow, hopefully.

Quickly losing patience with what should be an easy accessory!

Necklace scuplted (Posted 27th July 2013)

Will be baked and painted tomorrow - added some twirly bits because it's a bit too plain for my liking.
