I choose to cosplay Princess Peach in the style of Steampunk because I thought it would be a fun and challenging task to do. When designing the costume I thought about all the different things princess might need to survive constantly being kidnapped. I found some cute bronze keys which I hung from the corset which could be keys to the different castles she's been to, I made some goggles for her to use when she flys with her umbrella, she has a gold stopwatch to keep the time while she's locked her and the spats are to keep her legs clean and safe when either escaping or spending time with Bowzer. The skirt is made up of an underskirt and a duchess satin shirt about 2 meters long sewn together at the waistband which hooks and eyes to bustle the skirt so peach can go on adventures without tripping on her skirt. I made the waistcoat out of calico first to get the shape right then I made it out of a dark pink duchess satin and lined it with cotton in the same colour. I made the goggles using some pieces of plumbing to hold the lenses which I'd salvaged from some sunglasses and cut and filed them to shape. I then attached a leather strap for the nose piece and another which could be adjusted to go round the head. It was a really fun cosplay to wear and I defiantly felt like a princess :)

Its up for sale on ebay,
