Silvery white :) (Posted 5th May 2010) Yaaaay! Wig finally arrived, despite our good friend the volcano :) It's almost perfect :P, for Shizuka-sama it is a heaven-sent miracle. But for the white dragon.....I have to do something about the fringe. I'll get some photos up with proper make-up/face paint and wig when I find time :) |

happiness is... (Posted 8th April 2009) the better than half price sale at my local fabric shop xD got all my dress fabric for just over £5!!! i'm sosososo happy i've also got some white stuff i'm gonna use for kuchiha..but thats another costume lol anyways....fabric bought...patterns laid out.... all thats left is to cut and sew ^.^ |

ARGH-ness (Posted 24th March 2009) i've now been officially banned from all games animes and had my manga volumes hidden somewhere ='[ i'm not so distraught i shall find other ways to distract me from the very important coursework i'm supposed to be doing which is.. in finished this cos-play HAHA! so coz i've been ill...and therefore not been out much...i've managed to save up some money i'd otherwise have spent..and can actually go out and buy my dress fabric wooo! ^.^ so the dress is soon to be finished!! yays! |

progress with accessories (Posted 15th March 2009) i found some of the black suede material i used on my kimono which is perfect for the wrist and neck pieces its just thick enough to keep its shape and make a perfect point on the hands =] i also raided the drawers of the sewing machine and found some little poppers so i used them to secure the fabric round my wrists so.. so far i have the material cut out and i've finished the wrist thingies when i get this finished all thats left is the dress xD i found the perfect wig as well so i've got to send off for that i just cannot afford to do it all in eyeliner =P |

Are you making your own pattern to make the dress?
Yep =] well, I've stolen bits of patterns from a dressmaking book and sort of molded them all together into the dress shape i want
just hope it works ok......coz i really can't afford to get more fabric if i mess it up =|

Are you making up a 'rough' first? (I find it helpful making up a rough - that way loads of adjustments can be made to get the rough exactly right then transferr it onto the proper material, so you can't forget something silly like seam allowance, or trust in a pattern size only to find it is American and the garment won't even fit your 14 year old neice! (sorry to say ..guilty on both counts =P)

I know! I cannot believe how long it's taken me to just get down and finish that dress, it only took a couple of hours in the end. After a year! A year not finishing it!!
Glad it's done now though :) Can't wait to wear it all together properly in May xD
