|I set myself the target of learning new skills in 2013 and branching out into working with new materials. |
While there many people in the cosplay scene who have good sewing skills, prop making is something less common among the communality.
This combined with my love of Live Action Role Play (LARP), it seamed all to obvious to me that I should learn how to make the foam / latex props associated with the other costume based hobby I enjoy.
I like LARP props because they are functional as well as visual. This dagger is my first attempt to make a LARP weapon (though given how much I enjoyed making this, I doubt it'll be my last) and will be added to my own LARP kit for the various systems I play.
So with some tuition and guidance from the guy who looks after maintains the kit for my local LARP, I'm gonna give it my best shot.
