Wig! (Posted 27th April 2013)

Ok, wig time! I forked out and got this beauty from coscraft http://www.coscraft.co.uk/alex/298-alex-in-very-pale-blonde.html - could have got one for half the price from ebay but I've used theirs before and it's such lovely quality. Anyway, had to cut a fringe into it, which was an interesting first time experience. Also, pretty much finished the armour, using cardboard covered in silver tape and silver spray paint, mounted on a very long silver opera glove. Now for all the hard sewing bits...

Soulsword! (Posted 15th April 2013)

So, finally getting around to doing this costume..
I went with quite a simple design for the sword, mainly because I don't have much experience in prop making. I followed this wonderful tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yE7Gl_F1AEk which uses cardboard and a wooden dowel; I think it looks quite effective! I've also started making the armour, thankfully only on the one arm, from card/papier mache/some wonderful silvery tape. Pics soon!

So I have the black body suit, and I think I'm going to make the yellow bit separately and attach it. Notice how I'm trying to sew as little lycra/spandex as possible - I don't own an overlocker. I'm also debating re-using the wig I used for Enchantress. It's heat resistant so I could straighten it then style the fringe. Also, I don't know whether to make a plain Soulsword, or add the blue magicky energy to it...
