| This was a dress I designed and wore to the Grand International Cosplay Ball. My original designs never end up like the first design. I change my mind so many times and change the ideas as I sew, so no idea what this was based on in the end. Nia calls it the 'Art Deco' dress :D This was the first outfit I properly designed from scratch, so know where I went wrong! For future ball designs I'm going to try and emphasize a bit more of a shape, as straight down doesn't work for me. It was all an experiment though :D The underskirt was made out of a stretchy dull satin, while the overlay and corset was lace overlayed on a plain material. I used bias binding and lace to give detailing, and frogging for the details on the front. I decorated some hairsticks to go with this, but you can't really see them! | |

I disagree with what you're saying, too. I think the subtle shape makes you seem all shapel and feminine without being in your face ^^
