ok, so here's the thing. when i was a kid, there was this amazing puppetshow on TV called starfleet. it was miles ahead of thunderbirds and other puppetshows of the time in quality, and i loved it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77KTTDiTRvs the series was originally a japanese show called x-bomber, and while only 20 odd episode were made, it has hardcore UK fans to this day. even brian may and eddie van halen were fans, and co-released a recording called "the starfleet project" which included a cover version of the english ending theme. this last month, after 20+ years of the series being buried in a vault somewhere, it's finally been remastered and released on DVD. so i have to do this ;p this is looking like a MAJOR project... far bigger than anything i've done to date. i'll certainly not be starting any work on it untill after october's expo, but forward planning is always good. i'm thinking of investigating vaccum forming as a method. if that fails, i'll use my ever faithful foam.
