Description
This cosplay was originally suggested to me by my sister. We were in the middle of watching ATLA (still haven't finished it btw, halfway through S3 whoops) and I was loving it. I didn't take the idea too seriously at first, but it somehow really stuck in my head, so I did it.
I hadn't actually made clothes with material and a sewing machine before (unless you count some plain Hogwarts robes which were pretty easy) so I was really worried about how it would turn out. But I was so pleased with myself in the end! Even though I broke about three needles when adding the fur trim. I had a lovely lady from my church who knows all about dressmaking giving me advice, and she was invaluable!
To be honest it was actually quite shabby - I had to make a floor length skirt but the material wasn't long enough so it was sewn onto another bit of material by my waist quite badly (but it was all covered up!).
The hardest thing was styling the wig. I found it really difficult and the one I had was really too thin to recreate Yue's style. Man, that hair is tricky! Eventually I just had the front in two plaits and the back loose. One day I will wear this again and add an extension to the wig so I can actually do the hair.
