|This is my second Chun Li costume and involved alot more work than the previous.|
I found a seller offering this costume for cheap on eBay so I snapped it up(it was originally a TSSY2005 commission but it turned up late for their desired event so were selling it on at a fraction of the price - result!)and did some altering.
Firstly the split at the back was WAY too high. You could basically see my backside o_O
Closing it over and using some of the left over gold trim, my partner Cal added the fishtail detail to the back.
I also put in a commission request on an LJ community for a detailed belt with the dragon motif and better bao bao bun covers. Both arrived safe annd well and Cal added a gold trim to the bao bao, made the ribbons longer and added better bows. I added a gold fabric painted trim to the bottoms of the bows.
Using the tights, wrist bands and the boots from my first costume saved me alot of money! I bougth a new lighter blue leotard to match the colouring of the cheongsam and wore as before.
This dress is a bit more flattering, it is more fitted to my shape but I found it very uncomfy to wear! But one must make sacrifices for cosplay :)
