Babydoll Cosplay

Babydoll in the snow

Costume Information

Cost : £40
Time Taken : 3 weeks

This took me a surprisingly short amount of time considering it was my first serious cosplay attempt! I really enjoyed the 'making' part of this. The gun, the charms and the sword were so enjoyable to make!

The skirt was difficult to get to do what i wanted it to, and the top admittedly is from when i was 9. An old dancing costume! But i altered it dramatically- added the collar and the lining of the collar/sleeves, added the belt hoops.

Just acting like a dork (Posted 17th January 2013)

mum's just took pictures of the costume for me :3
So happy with how it's turned out!

Oh my gosh it's freezing (Posted 17th January 2013)

Fully painted and completed gun (Posted 16th January 2013)

Very proud of this, actually. I love painting things other than faces. I made the handle/grip look like wood with darker lines and things :)

The wig came! So did the gun! (Posted 16th January 2013)

Time to get makin' and stylin'

Charms done! (Posted 16th January 2013)

Gosh, i'm productive when i wanna be, huh!

Making the charms now :) (Posted 15th January 2013)

very enjoyable work. though they're not coming out as good as i'd hoped...

Got the skirt and it's almost finished now! (Posted 15th January 2013)

Except i need to take it in because it's rather baggy and.. (call me a slut) a little too long...

Hungover with last night's makeup on (Posted 13th January 2013)

So today won't be very productive

So I fashioned the belts.. (Posted 12th January 2013)

I made the belts cross at the back (i still need to sew them like that though!) and i attached the scabbard to the woven belt/sling. Put my babydoll top on, too :)

I literally have no life (Posted 11th January 2013)

All my friends have gone back to uni and I have another 10 days before anything remotely interesting is going to happen. So here i am at 2am painting and sewing away

Katana doneeee (Posted 11th January 2013)

Had to paint the 'blade' to make it actually look vaguely like metal, I painted the handle and guard black, took off that terrible black lace and used my old handbag's strap cut in half as the XXX part of the handle. I painted the scabbard mahogany coloured and added the cute little snow flakes onto it :)

Cheap shit 'ninja sword' arrived! (Posted 10th January 2013)

Gonna have to paint the hell out of this to make it look like babydolls! all part of the fun though, i guess

Bought some belts (Posted 7th January 2013)

To help fashion the katana sling and the shoulder holster

Lining all sewed up! (Posted 6th January 2013)

Collar completed, the lining of the collar completed!

First sewed on the collar (Posted 5th January 2013)

I wanted a picture with light hair and my slowly developing top, so I used my nurse joy wig!
