|I love this show!|
Stuck between a few skirts at the mo', and wondering what to do about shoes, and need to buy a wig.... But otherwise, everything is sorted! :D
All done :) (Posted 25th February 2013)
What a great time! Midlands was my first proper MCM Con, and IT WAS AMAZING! I even got to meet Eoin Macken (Sir Gwaine), and he was lovely :3 I swear, I didn't REALLY cry in the queue...
So, cosplay review? Honestly, it was god awful, I know :L BUT, it was first ever, so I'm quite happy that it turned out like it did. It wasn't perfect - hell, it was a long way from it - but as a first time go, I'm glad I did it :D
Almost finished! (Posted 28th January 2013)
I'm so excited! The skirt I've chosen is, admittedly, purple and crushed velvet, but it looks surprisingly good. My wig was, admittedly, cheap, but will hopefully be okay. It wasn't the one I wanted, but let this be a lesson to all first time cosplayers - if you're buying your wig from Hong Kong, don't leave it till a few weeks before the convention before buying. Yep, clever ol' me. That took some fun chaos to sort out.
All in all, I'm quite impressed with sorting out a first-time 'real' cosplay for under £20, because I'm a cheapskate hahaha. I didn't want to go all-out price-wise if I'd never done it before. Honestly, I swear I just base every cosplay I have planned around what I already own...
I'm really excited for this now. My amazing bestie woohooitsbeth is being Mordred, so I'm looking forward to a fun filled day of pure evil. >:D
Wig Dilemma (Posted 12th January 2013)
First day of serious costume hunting. I'm completely stumped between five wigs, ranging between £21 and £31. Should I go cheaper, since I'll likely never where it again, or should I buy a decent one for a higher price? Hrm.
I've looked at underbust corsets, and decided that my best bet will to by one of those elasticated/plastic boned waist-cinchers to wear under your clothes, but use it as a corset. I figure that they look almost the same with everything wrapped over it, and it drops the price too.
I'm struggling with shoes. I want to use simple, flat black boots, but do I own them? No. Hopefully someone I know does.
The other big problem facing me at the mo' is THAT DAMNABLE SKIRT. I had one that looked almost perfect, but found that my mother has thrown it away. So, as it seems rather unlikely that I'll find a green, lace-covered, floor length skirt for under £10 by February, I'm stuck between a plain black and lace one that ends just above the ankle, or an incredibly long dark red and lace one.
