|Time Taken :||40 hours|
|Ever since I first saw LOTR way back when i wanted to dress up as Galadriel and thus I plan on making that dream a reality :) since my hair's blonde anyway I'll just make extensions to go underneath to make my hair as long as hers :) will be done for Oct expo :D!|
"She was a royal Elf of both the Noldor and theTeleri, being a grandchild of both King Finwë and King Olwë, and was also close kin of King Ingwëof the Vanyar through her grandmother Indis. She was one of the leaders in the rebellion of the Noldor and their flight from Valinor during the First Age, and she was the only prominent Noldo to return at the end of the Third Age. Towards the end of her stay in Middle-earth she was co-ruler of Lothlórien with her husband, Lord Celeborn, and was referred to variously as the Lady of Lórien, the Lady of the Galadhrim, the Lady of Light, or the Lady of the Golden Wood. Her daughter Celebrían was the wife of Elrond and mother of Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir."
About the Costume:
So during my finals I decided it would be a grand idea to make Galadriel for May Expo rather than October like I had originally planned and thus like many of my costumes I rushed the dress at the last minute but was still very wearable (the bottom hem hadn't been done and the top was a bit botched), never the less I had an amazing time with the Tolkien cosplay group and will have it finished for LFCC :)
I made the hair extentions from 2 different wigs so that I could use my own hair and blend it in. The tiara and some of the brooch I made from foam board and with the gemstone made from milliput and then painted with regualr acrylics. The dress consists of 14meters of fabric; chiffon and polyester underneath, the shoes have yet to be altered but will look very eleven when they're done :)

The brooch (Posted 29th May 2013)
I had originally decided to make the entire thing out of millipit.. half way through I realised that that was not going to work so I decided to make it partially out of milliput and the wirey parts out of funky foam! brilliant stuff! the foam is attached to the centre piece with milliput at the back and the remaining pieces are hot glued together as the foam bonds incredibly well together when heated! I do intend on making this again out of sturdier material (once I find some!
Galadriel's Tiara (Posted 14th March 2013)
making the tiara has been quite a success but I'm still treating it as a prototype because I've never made something like this before and I'm still getting the hang of using foam. So basically this is 1 A4 sheet of funky foam (pound lands finest, of Course) painted with regular acrylicpaints and out accordingly, atm alot of the side/back is educated guesswork from small low res images, so once I've got a copy of the hobbit I'll analyse the tiara and make a newer better more accurate version but for now this one will do!
