| I already had Akito Takagi on my planned list who I actually prefer over Mashiro, but it dawned on me that the blue hoodie I bought for my Kyo Sohma cosplay could also go towards cosplaying this guy as well. I already have some jeans too, and have already found and bought a navy and white striped shirt so really I just need to get hold of a wig and some footwear to finish it off. Ironically despite liking Akito ( the writer ) more I'd say that I definitely have more in common with Mashiro since he's the artist of the manga-making duo of the story. I doubt I'd have the stamina to make a manga but I'm really into illustration and it's really very important to me ( a hobby I got involved in years before I ever started cosplaying ) so I'd say that he's a good choice of character for me to cosplay =) Not sure which event I'm going to first cosplay him for, I guess I'll see when he's ready... UPDATE: Debuted during the Sunday of Minamicon 2013 ( No. 19 ). I only ended up getting one or two random snap-shots of it since I didn't get the chance to do a photoshoot. I was happy that a few different people gave me some nice comments on the wig. Looking forward to getting some better pictures another time. | |

Sourced & Ordered Wig (Posted 29th January 2013) I've now found and ordered a suitable wig. It was actually easy to find one with a good style for him as there were many, though his hair colour is kind of unusual. The manga and anime gives the impression that it's dark with the colour of the highlights suggesting it's actually a dark shade of blue. While in many of the colour illustrations it's shown as a much lighter, warm blue. The wig I chose is actually black with light blue highlights which looks much like the effect in the anime, so I have my fingers crossed that it will look just as effective as it did in the seller's photo when it arrives. The ETA was given as between 13th Feb - 1st March, so it's possible that I might wear him to Minami 2013. I still don't have my cosplay plans set in stone for that event so we shall see... |

Oooh yay Moritaka! I know what you mean I actually prefer Akito too but I don't have anything against Moritaka as such - this will be a comfy cosplay to wear! :D
Yeah, it's always good to have a comfy cosplay and it's one I could wear on the train too which is always useful ( just put the wig on when I get to whichever event I'm wearing him to ) ^^
