Working on the skirt (Posted 9th December 2012)

Been working on the parts for the skirt. I went Hulk mode with some scissors for the dark brown woven front part, and then weathered it with tan shoe polish. Kinda like the result! I still need to finish the light and green suede skirt parts, cut them more roughly and weather them with shoe polish.

Bought all kinds of fabric! (Posted 2nd December 2012)

Went to the fabric market today and came back with some fabrics I really liked! :-D(More of these you can also find at my other Daenerys outfit pages)

From left to right and from top to bottom:
- Really thick brown/black woven material for the top and apron.
- Light beige fake suede for the top part of the skirt.
- Camel fake suede for the ribbons around the boots.
- Green/brown fake suede for the skirt.

Distressed jeans to match her leather pants (Posted 27th November 2012)

I have looked all over the place to find a good alternative for the leather pants Daenerys is wearing. Real leather pants were too expensive, fake leather pants looked cheap and/or fake, most distressed jeans were either gray, black or blue, but not brown, and I just refused to wear tights or leggings.
But FINALLY I stumbled upon these skinny low jeans from H&M and they are just perfect! Really happy with them! :-D And they were only around 30 GBP, so me is also happy with that ;)
The left picture is Daenerys wearing the pants (this is actually from her 'Red Waste' outfit, but they are basically almost the same), and right are the H&M jeans.

Suede boots (Posted 25th November 2012)

Bought some new vintage beige suede boots from Marktplaats.nl (the Dutch Ebay). They were about 20 GBP. I intend to make them a bit more weathered, and add some pieces of suede in the same colour to make the 'ribbons'. Picture is reference picture of the original boots and on the right the ones I bought :-)

First purchase: the wig! (Posted 5th November 2012)

I didn't want to spend too much money on the wig (I read somewhere that the wig used for the series is more than US$ 7000 :|), but I discovered it is next to impossible to find a white/platinum blond wig that is long enough AND doesn't have a fringe or bangs -_-

Finally I found this wig on Ebay. It's obviously too long, but I can cut it. It will also need a brush to make it more 'rough' and of course I will braid it, but for $ 27 including shipment not bad ;)
