| Now THIS is going to be fun. No set convention, since I have no idea how long it will take, how much the different parts will cost all together. But my current estimate is near £200, without considering animatronics. Plus at least two months of working on it each day. Eventual Aims: - Animatronic wings (controller hidden in suit) - Fully blending head piece - Only hand made replica feathers (still deciding between a couple of materials) - Blending hands in application using glycerine - Light, flexible tail feathers - Several baby tooth fairies that float around Tooth's head without use of wire I would really like a group for when I do this, but I'm going to start making it before I hunt for more people, purely due to how long this will take compared with everyone else (not saying the other Guardians won't take long, it's just that materials can be bought for them, while I will have to make every single feather individually). And... if the animatronics work well, I may want to make masks/prosthetics for the other Guardians as part of my portfolio... | |

it begins (Posted 31st December 2012) The green fabric goes between a light teal and dark green depending on the angle and light, and the gold is a satin. I just wrapped this around my arm to show what it looks like on, but I think I’ll use these feathers for the torso and make smaller ones for the wrist. And I think I’ll need to paint them with a yellower green metallic paint (might have to mix my own), and paint the gold feathers with a lighter yellow around the neck, since her feathers are lighter in the middle. Buuut I’ll get to that once I’ve cut out enough for the entire body. |

first wing section (Posted 28th December 2012) cut the pvc out and made a wire frame around it. i can only hold one up at a time at the moment since i still need to make the base to attach each section to. but i'm definitely happier with the sizing now. next steps: make the membrane pattern and cover in cellophane! |

wing template (Posted 26th December 2012) finally got something I'm vagually happy with. I'm going to go ahead and make the wire frame, then see how much it needs adjusting then, since it looks a bit big like this. |
