Description
It's been a while since I've seen a character and knew instantly that I had to cosplay them. As soon as I saw Ultimo, I knew he was a must-do. Karakuridouji ULTIMO isn't very well known at the moment, but I'm hoping it will be in future! And finally, this costume had its debut at Aya Revolution '09! After a couple of setbacks throughout the year, I finally managed to cosplay him with (what I consider to be) great success! I spent many a late night up watching South Park while painting the gloves, and they have by far turned out to be my favourite part of the costume. The hakama-style trousers were by far one of the hardest things I've ever had to make, there's about 2 metres worth of fabric in there somewhere - that sheer volume added to the deceptively-difficult cut of these trousers made them hell to even start. The top snapped within five minutes of me wearing it at the con, but fortunately, I had opted for a stick-on bra which saved me (some) of my dignity! I managed to get it quickly fixed at Aya's Cosplay HQ ^^; I really enjoyed wearing this costume because so many people seemed interested in the colours and design of Ultimo, without even knowing who he was! Hopefully, I managed to get the people who asked me who I was cosplaying interested in checking out the series - which was, after all, my main aim! I have to thank SephNoir for the wonderful work on the wig, which this costume would be nothing without; and also, Death May Die, for amazing pictures!
