|Time Taken :||8 hours|
|The film is obviously a re-telling of the more famous Prince and the Pauper tale but Anneliese, the Princess, and Erika, the Pauper, never get to switch places voluntarily. As such, though Erika must pretend to be Anneliese and wears a blue Princess dress with pink highlights, Anneliese is only ever pictured in her Princess dress.|
Since Bex and I were going to wear Anneliese and Erika for the ECG qualifiers at Hyper Japan we were asked to stay in costume from judging until the results were announced. That's nearly 5 hours in costume and it can get quite uncomfortable walking around in that big skirt and sitting down in a corset so I made this Pauper dress for Anneliese, inspired by Erika's Pauper dress to be my casual, but still in character, cosplay for when not performing.
The pink is stoff plain and modified from the same bodice pattern as my Princess Anneliese. The skirt is a demi circle with 3 inserts at the front of gold satin backed dupion with a glitter tulle over layer and then two of a floral cotton backed with poly cotton because it was a little thin and sheer. The white centre panel of the bodice is duchess satin with the glitter tulle knife pleated over the bust and finished with top stitched criss crossing gold ribbon with a heart lace up the sides. Bias binding finished off the neckline (though sadly it's a little off colour but it was the only pink I could get @>@) and the dress zips up at the back.
I even got a braid for my hair that's threaded with beads because, well, Anneliese is still a Princess.
