| As a result of the fabric I ordered for Supanova getting stuck somewhere and potentially slightly under ordering the fabric for my plugsuit I was in a panic as to what to wear for the cosplay comp. Then looking round my manga libary I remembered wanting to cosplay Hana from Gate 7 because of all her pretty outfits. I also ordered my wig for Yuzurahi so all I need to do is burrow that wig, style it a little and add in some clip in extensions and I have a wig for Hana. I couldn't decide which outfit I liked best but I ended up with this design as I know I have plenty of white fabric which I bought for another cosplay which I am yet to use so I can pretty much get on with this costume without worrying that I don't have the supplies I need! It's going to be a hard pushed deadline but I think I can manage it - here's hoping :D 10days till the event - 5 cosplays to make including this - CHALLENGE ACCEPTED (or I'm plain crazy XD) | |

Red Under Kimono (Posted 2nd November 2012) Hana's outfit has three layers to it the bottom layer being a red Kimono. I made this kimono out of broad cloth so that it would be thinner then using cotton drill. I then painted (freehand as I prefer the look over a rigid stencil) the gold triangles onto it. I also made sure there was a slight gradiant starting with lots of gold triangles at the bottom and less at the top. The Kimono was made to the correct length so it can be folded and worn like a traditional Kimono though I didn't add a proper collar due to time constraints though I probabaly will regret this and add one at a later date. |
