| Here is my costume for May 2013. Getting a good start on it already Its made of a dark green and blue, heavy taffeta with satin ribbon appliqued on top. I cut one pattern piece of each colour and then cut into strips. I then turned over alternate strips to give me a left and right pattern pieces, and stitched the strips back together. The hat had 22 pieces of fabric!! I have so far appliqued the sleeves and sewed the jacket strips together. The hat is almost done but for the band to edge it with. | |

Ah tell me about it...i'm actually considering doing The Hellequin for May along with another Mass Effect cosplay but no idea where to start!!
I'm sure you will think of something though =)
I am going to do Hellequin for Holly when I have finished this one - I had planned to use her EDI bodysuit as a template. We shall be wearing them in May too!!
Looks like you are making great progress with this. It makes me realise that I really need to get to work on my one. All I have done so far is paint my mask.

Thank you so much, I am careful not to give it all away in one hit, I am now painting the mask!! Easy peasy compared to the sewing!! :D
Thanks for the comments on my harlequin costume. I agree that painting the mask is a lot easier than the sewing stages. You seem to have almost finished your costume - I think I will need all the remaining time between now and Expo to complete mine.
