| I absolutely loved running round at Expo as Korra. The only downside was that I was so busy running around that I didn't get any decent pics of the cosplay. I plan on doing her season two outfit in the near future. | |

Wig progress pic (Posted 23rd September 2012) Just a progress pic. Korra's wig is the hardest I've ever attempted! Putting a wig meant to be worn straight into a high ponytail is the hardest thing ever T.T. Lots of wefts and swearing involved. Then getting the ponytail to stick up like hers is even harder. I ended up using lots of very thick hair bands and layers of thin card to finally get it to stay up. All I need to do now are some finishing bits of styling/cutting to the front bangs and ponytail and make her hair ornaments. |

Jacket now finished! (Posted 23rd September 2012) I'm really happy with how this turned out! :D I've never attempted a jacket before. The jacket is made from a cotton twill type fabric in the same colour as the underskirt. It is trimmed with the same false fur around the hood and at the top of the arms. I then used thick white bias tape for the end of the sleeves. The circular decoration is made out of some spare vinyl I had lying around which has been painted with acrylic paints. I decided to make Korra's jacket with a hood since I think its more accurate (Katara and Sokka's jackets both had hoods) even though it isn't ever made clear in the show. |

Underskirt and fur sarong both finished :D (Posted 13th September 2012) Navy blue cotton was used for the underskirt. The fur sarong was brown suede with fake fur trim added. Halfway through with making this cosplay- only the wig, trousers and jacket left to make. I've already started work on the jacket so hoping it will be done soon. |

Top finished (Posted 6th September 2012) This was actually a tank top that I brought and modified as I wanted a really stretchy material (and I'm rubbish at sewing stretchy fabric myself >.<) I cut the collar to size and trimmed it with white foldover elastic. The white parts around the arms are painted on with SoSoft fabric paints. I also treated the collar with starch and lined it with thin cardboard to make it stand up. |

Lower arm bands finished (Posted 21st August 2012) Made from navy blue stretch fabric and trimmed with white foldover elastic. These were a bit tricky to cut and make- I have seen lots of cosplayers have these do up with laces or velcro. However I wanted them as accurate as possible so I chose to use stretchy fabric. Not only is it hard to cut accurately, but I also had to taper it so that the top was smaller than the bottom so it would fit snugly on my hand. |
