It's all going to be worth it in the end.... :) | |

Horns Baby xD (Posted 25th October 2012) All painted and ready to go xD Really hope they survive the journey to expo without getting scratched..... |
last minute painting!! (Posted 25th October 2012) So started painting a day before EXPO! Thank goodness the plaster dried on time xD Cannot mess this up now.. |
New tunic. (Posted 21st October 2012) Decided I just didn't like how Faramir's surcoat hung on this costume so made a new tunic. Same material and same colour just a different fit. Also means I have less flesh on show ;) |
Tail! (Posted 20th October 2012) I made a tail xD It's lovely... it curves out from my back or can alternately be worn curling round my ankle. Love it :) Not so fond of the horns... which are quite frankly painful to wear for more than an hour :/ We'll see how I get on in the Expo Hall >.< |
Stage 2 Horns: (Posted 14th October 2012) Covered them in plaster bandages for extra strength and a little bit of structure. Once they've dried I can start plaster sculpting! |
Horns in progress (Posted 28th September 2012) the plan: light air-drying clay used to create the shape of the horns and the base with which it is attached to my head. Papier mache used to create ridges and texture to horns. Whole creation coated in plaster of paris, smoothed down and any further details sculpted in. Wall plugs have been inserted into the clay base. A strong leather headband will be attached to the horns with screws which i can tye around my head before putting on the wig. |
