Costume Information

Description
Cosplaying San is so much fun that I want to do it again! And this time I want to edit as much as I can and I hope I will improve on my original costume!
Also I thought this was a good excuse to do different 'versions' of San...

I'd like to do a 'blood' version and a 'curse mark' version :) let's hope I can figure them out!! Because the curse mark version needs less made for it I'll probably go with that one first!

If anyone has experience with blood or curse marks please share your wisdom ^^ as I'll be guessing how to make those!

Things I will remake:
SHOES -I threw the last ones in the bin after Amecon, I was NEVER happy with them, they didn't look enough like her shoes but because I put effort into them and I think I did a good job sewing them I worn them to 3cons just to get use out of them.

MASK -although I really like my first mask it was made with paper mache and I'd like to try and remake it with different materials, I'd also like to try and attach it to the hood better this time!

CLOAK AND HOOD -these looked fine but I gave my cloak away (to a good cause) so I'd love to re-make it for the 'blood' version :)

ARM BANDS AND HEAD BAND -I wasn't that impressed with my first ones and they kept breaking too! I made them in a rush and I'd like to re-make them!

WEAPON -My original weapon got damaged during a move and since I move house every 6 months I got sick of carrying it around so I broke it up and threw it out. Next time I will make her hand weapon.

WHITE TOP -I didn't like my first white top enough to keep it, I will see if I can edit it or remake a new one. I'd like to try and get a better shape if possible.

WIG!!!!! -this was my main issue (along with the shoes) about the first costume, hence why I didn't even wear my wig at Amecon. I cut my wig too short for MCM Telford 2012 and there's nothing you can do about a short wig once you've cut it :P.

Also I'll need to make Ashitaka's necklace for the curse mark ^^ and I'm considering making a couple of props if I have time!

Photo shoot! (Posted 19th April 2013)

Although this isn't finished I decided to take a along some parts of my old costume and a couple of re-made things to a photo shoot the other day! It was a for Uni student's project so I kinda thought, I'd just go help out, see what happens and use it as an excuse to test my body painting!!
I made my white top the night before and it wasn't that great at all :p it definitely needs to be edited!!
The body paint went fine considering it was the first day I tried it out :) but it can be done better of course!
Some parts of my costume were missing (such as a Ashitaka's necklace for my curse mark version and my cloak for my general Mononoke version-I still took my old mask and hood for the sake of it)

I re-made my shoes (as I threw my last ones out after Amecon :P) they looked nice from the side imo but not as good from the front! It's just because of the way I made them.

Starting prep for Mononoke 'curse mark' (Posted 8th April 2013)

Bought a wig, some of the 'face paint' that I hope to use to make the curse mark and shoe insoles. I did start making the shoes around working on my dissertation but I need to re-do them as I don't like the way I choose to sew various parts together :P it's fine though, I find sewing relaxing and so re-sewing something small like a shoe is kind of nice!!
I've also made a hand-weapon out of card board/wood pieces which I'll hopefully continue to work on at some point!
