|I have adored the Amano artwork of Terra for so so long. Having started playing FFVI recently and being a fairway through the game, I have come to adore her character as well (Sabin is my favourite but like hell am I cosplaying him!)|
But yes, this artwork. HNNNNG is all I can say.
I am going to throw as many beautiful fabrics and trimmings at this cosplay as I can (without over do-ing it!). At the moment I could not be happier with how this has turned out. I feel like I've gained a lot of new skills with this cosplay, especially embroidery!
-Choker necklace made with trim and ribbon, with beads and chain sewn on.
-Bag is red brocade, with gold ribbon and multi-coloured beads sewn on with metallic thread.
-Scarves are a mixture of bought and made. I have made scarves from blue brocade, pink embroidered chiffon and some wierd stretchy zebra print fabric.
-Dress is red brocade with embroidery and swarovsky crystal bead detail, metallic bias, pearl and gold trims.
-Gauntlets made to match dress, but with less embroidery and beads
-Pauldron is a shoulder pad covered in red brocade, with chain and bead detail, and trims to match the dress and gaultlets
-The cape is lilac organdy, hemmed with matching chiffon ribbon and decorated with more fabric flowers than I ever care to see again in my life. Trimmed with a red beaded ribbon.
-Leggings are a white lycra with rainbow stars.
-The arm-cape-thingy is a piece of the most beautiful fabric I have ever seen. It's a gradient-dyed net embellished with glitter and tiny beads in floral patterns. So lovely! I shaped the bottom of the fabric, and then turned the top corner into a tube to form a psudo-sleeve which I attached to the strap that I made to attach the pauldron to the dress.
-Bootcovers are white pleather covered in red brocade. Trims to match everything else. Hemmed with gold bias binding, with little beads sewn on. Big beady applique thingy on outer sides of the covers are salvaged from a top I got inordinately cheap in a sale.
Hopefully with Luminescence as Amano-style Celes Chere and Devil_Trigger as Locke Cole
Gemucon 2013- This was the first time I actually put this all together and it took AGES because I didn't know what I was doing haha! I'm really happy with how it looked and moved, though I had to chop off one of the hooks inside the boots as it bent and was catching :/ Other than that, no problems!
Definately wearing this again, though I'll have to remember to find ways to keep cool, it was a suprisingly warm cosplay!
The masq was so fun, I made friends with most of the other entries as everyone was so nice! Definately the most close knit masq I've entered! Please watch the video of everyone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8kJxwlCr4g (I don't know id the embedding worked), everyone worked really hard! I'm on at about 5:50 :)
Ayacon 2013- Wore this again with my growing FFVI amano group! Wore it to the chess and it held together, and this time my boots didnt catch c: Have added a sword to the costume now.
Credit and a million thank yous to LittleGeeky for the amazing showcase video she's made of me! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46nzO4EDx8E&list=PL9IePIFsAt7iEWt93kj3n8lv3BmP6WguV if it doesn't work)

New addition for Ayacon! (Posted 15th August 2013)
Mum and I were clearing out the attic and we came across an old sword prop she'd made years ago. It was designed to be a pirate sword for a costume party, so it had the same curve Terra's sword in Dissidia art does.
Wig (Posted 13th March 2013)
Had a couple of spare hours today so decided to style the wig
Boot covers of doom (Posted 9th March 2013)
I can't beleive how much stress these have caused me!
They probably could be better, but I'm happy enough with how they look.
Cape, arm cape and strap (Posted 22nd February 2013)
I started work on the cape today and it's not going too badly
...It makes sense to me okay haha
EDIT 26/2 I am seriously done with flowers. There are approximately 121 on that cape
Dress progress and gauntlets (Posted 19th February 2013)
After god knows how long, I have finally nearly finished the dress. I somehow managed to make the skirt about 4 or 5 sizes too big, and so I ended up having to gradually take it in bit by bit so I didn't screw up.
GAUNTLETS ARE DONE
top and embroidery (Posted 10th January 2013)
I finally reached a point with the top half of the dress where I felt I could take a decent progress image. I utterly screwed up my first attempt, so I made a second. Screwed up the front panel so redid that one, so the one you see in the picture I uploaded is version 2.5
Pauldron (Posted 22nd November 2012)
I am a wuss and won't start the dress yet, so I made the pauldron over the past couple of days.
Other achievements include putting together a bunch of scarves using various fabrics and trims. Oh, and I made a bead chain thing. Said bead chain ended up being too heavy to just be tied onto my hips, so I sewed it lightly to one of the scarves.
Bag (Posted 13th November 2012)
So I have spent at least 20 hours making a bag that blends into my cosplay.
Shiny things (Posted 25th October 2012)
I've been a busy magpie, collecting lots of shiny things to jazz up the cosplay a bit. I have a couple of hairclips, a bigass flower, some pretty rings and a big brooch. So many sparkles~
wig and trims (Posted 16th October 2012)
I BOUGHT MORE TRIMS NOTHING CAN STOP MY INCESSANT NEED TO PURCHASE TRIMS
Necklace choker (Posted 7th October 2012)
I spotted yet more pretty trims and ribbons in the fabric shop today, and so decided to make a choker necklace. The choker is made from a maroon velvet ribbon and a beaded trim. I then attached beads and a pendant to this. This didn;t seem like enough, so I used an old necklace chain to make it look more like the Sakizou artwork.
So it begins (Posted 31st July 2012)
Mum treated me to some blue and red brocade fabrics today because I was feeling inordinately sick but still helped with the food shop and housework
