| I've leapt up onto the bandwagon pretty quickly for this one, and so would like to get this done for October! To go with Luke's Mako!! I opted for the Air Nomad version because I haven't seen as many cosplays of it and it's something a bit different from the no doubt hundreds of standard Korra's that could possibly be at Expo. Only downside is because I couldn't find clear and consistent references, my costume won't be accurate to the one in the show. I'd already bought the fabric before I'd realized that rather than a cape, it's actually a little bolero jacket with sleeves, and also before I'd realized that the yellow trousers aren't trousers at all... It's a "skirt" of sorts over darker red trousers. I am a derp, but worse, I am a poor derp who can't afford more fabric at this point, so I'm just going to have to be inaccurate ;__; | |

Wig In Progress (Posted 3rd October 2012) Just followed the tutorial to tie it back. Not sure how I feel right now but I'm not very good with wigs so it's probably as good as it could have been. Now I just need to make and add the adornments! |

Wig! (Posted 3rd October 2012) So, my wig arrived a few days ago and I really love it! It is this wig: http://www.coscraft.co.uk/coscraft-wigs/296-alex-in-very-dark-brown.html (Alex in Very Dark Brown, by Coscraft! Picture is me wearing it, unstyled. My task for today (after going out and buying a new hairgrip) is styling it!! I'm going to use this tutorial: http://katz16.deviantart.com/art/Wig-Tutorial-1-high-ponytail-200543539 I'm hoping it will work. I'm not too worried aabout my own hair showing through, because my hair is near enough that color right now anyway. To make the hair accessories, I'm thinking of maybe using thick, sturdy card, covered with a layer of craft foam in the right colour. I think that will work. Maybe! (In case you can't tell, I am panicking a bit about this silly wig!) |

Progress (Posted 3rd October 2012) This is actually from ages and ages ago but here's an image of my progress so far! I've made the capelet, and have also made the trousers too. I know that it's supposed to be a yellow skirt covering red trousers, but at the time I made this I didn't actually know that, so just made it as yellow trousers with a dark red stripe on the inside. I'd go back and change it, but I don't think I'll have time to do so since I have a lot of hours at work in the run up to Expo. I've also made the plain yellow top but haven't yet attached sleeves. The collar does need making again though, since right now it's the wrong shape. The waistband is just a strip of wide elastic which covers that join of my trousers & top, making it look seamless! The boots on the right are the boots I will be wearing. All I really have left is making the sock and armband sections of red fabric! |
