Journal
Holsters complete (Posted 20th October 2012) Finished holsters, some detail was added to the main wide strap behind where the gun fits, not really clear here. |
Holster progress (Posted 20th October 2012) Thanks to Leadmill's research, a left and right holster were found that fitted the glock 26's. Originally they were Uncle Mikes Kydex swivel holsters, they were taken apart and I only used the main part that holds the pistol. |
Bodysuit detail (Posted 17th October 2012) Detail was added to the catsuit using 10mm and 6mm bias tape sewn into place. This was the most time consuming part of the suit as it required hand stitching in places and multiple fittings to get the placement to match correctly. I added detail around the base of the collar, over the back and shoulders, on the forearms and knees. |
Belts complete (Posted 14th October 2012) Added a belt loop to the buckle and used velcro to fasten the waist belt. Now waiting on the holsters whilst I finish adding detail to the bodysuit. |
Belt buckle (Posted 14th October 2012) I created another mould and used resin to make the belt buckle. I plan to add a belt loop to fit it onto the waist belt. |
Wrist cuffs (Posted 14th October 2012) Finally finished casting the bullet shell's, painted them black and added some detail before fixing them onto strips of webbing. They are held into place using velcro. |
Suit collar (Posted 13th October 2012) I used a heavy interfacing with the PU fabric to create the stiff collar and added the detail strip using the reverse of the main suit fabric with a lighter interfacing to give it some support. This strip was placed between the main collar pieces before sewing it up. |
S.H.I.E.L.D. patches (Posted 13th October 2012) Using a paper template these were made from thin rubber sheeting in black/grey and carefully sewn onto the sleeves. |
Utility belt (Posted 7th October 2012) I used the same PU fabric as the pouches/boots, just the reverse side to make the utility belt. The buckle and pouches were added and it will be adjusted once the bodysuit is complete. |
Wrist cuff progress (Posted 3rd October 2012) I needed a quicker way of making the individual bullet shell's she wears as wrist cuffs, so I made one shell first then used a siligum mould and used latex to replicate more. I'll be making another mould to help speed up the process. |
Pouches complete (Posted 3rd October 2012) Finished utility pouches that will fit onto the holster belt. |
Holster/belt buckles (Posted 2nd October 2012) The metal buckles for the holster thigh straps and for the holster belt, sprayed black. These were the closest I could find that matched the references. |
Utility pouches (Posted 2nd October 2012) Progress of the pouches with the paper template, then transferred to foam before adding the faux leather and the disc that will fit inside before detail has been added. I'll be making my own utility belt as the one in the reference is slightly thinner than the standard viper belt. |
Pouch progress (Posted 30th September 2012) I used foam covered with faux leather fabric to create the pouches, one of four that will be attached to the holster belt. |
Boots progress (Posted 30th September 2012) Boots aren't finished here as buckles need to be added to the main straps before fixing them in place. |
Bodysuit fabric (Posted 6th September 2012) I'm planning to use a stretch PU fabric for the bodysuit, again using the basic catsuit pattern I used for other costumes and modifying the design. |
Boots, base (Posted 6th September 2012) These are the wedge boots I'll be using as a base to add the straps and front zipper to. |
Gloves (Posted 15th August 2012) I did some research and Alpinestars Stella Tyla gloves match the source material really well. The cuff will cover up most of the glove logo but I still covered it up with a strip of matching leather and cut off the fingers. Top is what they originally looked like, middle is the reference and bottom is afterwards. |
