| This was my initial ECG 2012 costume that I wasn't quite well enough to finish and decided to then build upon for London Expo. All those amazing European FSS cosplayers just put me to shame XD This outfit has so much satin stitch appliqué, I can't even imagine how many hours I've spent in front of my machine =^= Base outfit is the pilot suit, which is a tailored jacket with appliqué trim, applique front/sleeve/back detailing, high waisted trousers with appliquéd panels, and then gloves/chaps with more appliqué. All cotton. First over layer is the kimono, which is cotton lined with silk satin, with embossed silk trim, and resin cast gems for detailing, and appliqué on the back. Second over layer is the cloak, which is proving to be a nightmare to pattern, given the hard upper shape and sprawled lower shape. The flag is all natural silk, appliquéd in layers, and has had about 100 hours so far... | |

Flag (Posted 1st February 2012) This is just... so. slow. |

Gloves of dooooom. (Posted 1st February 2012) I really truly hate making gloves. I can't hand sew at all so I altered the pattern to machine sew it. |

Pilot suit progress! (Posted 1st February 2012) This is a quick overview of the pilot suit. The jacket is 3\4 sleeve tailored jacket [loved the back panels so much] which front/back/trim appliqué. I wasn't happy with the way the FEMC turned out and found another reference picture with more detail where it's covered by an honours panel so going with that. |

Well I'll be the first to congratulate you on your euro place. There is some nice detailing on this and I loved the work on the flag. Well done.
Congratulations! So well deserved.
The detailing in this costume is just insane! A truly well deserved win for the UK EuroCos representative! You're going to be amazing in the finals :)
This is such a wonderful costume and placing for EuroCosplay was so well deserved! I loved seeing all of the details up close - all the time and dedication definately paid off.
Best of luck in the finals~!
Brilliant costume. Great detail. Well done on placing for Eurocosplay ^^
Hey, was nice to meet you when you came to the cosplay desk to collect your prize ^^ I missed the actual masq because I was helping out backstage so I missed seeing your costume in full - it's nice to see the pictures! I like the way you've paid a lot of attention to what goes underneath his main outfit as well. Congrats on placing in the qualifier and look forward to seeing your Euro costume in October :)
That flag was possibly THE most beautiful prop I have ever had the extreme pleasure to judge. Also jeez your applique was so precise. I'm very happy with our choice :)

This was sublime to watch Ben, and you said you needed help with the sword work, listen I can help you clean up most of the performance later if you want- otherwise : you did a BLOODY MARVELOUS JOB! Well done!
Amazing. And the performance was so well timed.
Just a quick note to say well done. :)
I said it at the event and I'll say it again; really nice tailoring skill and work on this, it's a shame I couldn't see more of it!
