Strap (Posted 23rd May 2012) The strap is decorated with black and silver trim, using the same metallic fabric used for the arm cuffs I added strips along both edges of the strap to complete it. Using a fine fabric pen I added the same detail to match the arm cuffs to the metallic strips either side the black/silver trim. |
Dragon brooch and dress (Posted 22nd May 2012) Finally I added the brooch to the front of the dress where it easily rests in the v-neck and where the front ties overlap. Some arrangement of the fabric will be needed when worn but this gives an idea on how it will look. It feels quite secure considering the weight of the brooch. |
Fastening (Posted 22nd May 2012) Two silver buttons fasten the dress together at the back with small elasticated loops. This helps the dress drape nicely down the back whilst still making it secure. Top shows the back ties that will link to the arm cuffs attached on the outer sides and bottom shows the front strips tied back. |
Side ties and arm cuffs (Posted 22nd May 2012) The side strips were slipped under each arm cuff, pulled through a little and draped over the top of the each band. |
Front and side ties (Posted 22nd May 2012) Four wide strips have been attached to the dress, two at the back and two at the front over the cups of the dress. |
Front ties (Posted 22nd May 2012) Bra cups were added for support and the front ties lay over these on the outside of the dress, cross right over left and around above the waist. |
Fabric (Posted 22nd May 2012) The actual dress is a dark silver if you look at the photo's of it on display so I'm guessing they used filters in the post editing for the show. |
Dragon brooch (Posted 21st May 2012) A birthday gift I've been waiting to show off. The fabric is also what is used for the dress. |
Arm cuffs and beads (Posted 20th May 2012) I used metallic fabric for the arm bands, thin strips that were reinforced with interfacing and fasten with white velcro. Using a fine fabric pen I carefully added the diagonal lines to the metallic fabric and added stitch detail on top with silver thread running alongside. |
Ring (Posted 13th May 2012) After studying the references carefully, I noticed the ring wasn't completely black and the crescent part of the ring seemed quite 3D. |
Wig styled (Posted 4th May 2012) The wig was restyled and will have to be taken out again at Expo as I want to wear her dothraki outfit again on the Sunday afternoon. Small silver hair cuffs were used, 7 in total. Strands were separated and swept backwards, some loosely twisted to create a slight wavy style and fastened at the back. |
