Description
Titanic is my FAVOURITE film. and I adore Kate Winslet and how she portrays Rose. I've always loved this dress, it's so beautiful and really reflects Rose's break to freedom and change of outlook on her life. I'm excited to make it! :D I actually decided I wanted to do this dress last year, but never bothered to make it 'official' as it'd probably get knocked to the bottom of the priority list and be forgotten. I'd liked to have made this in time for the anniversary of Titanic's sinking (april 14th) but I definitely do not have the money or time. Instead I'm going to aim to get it complete some time this year :) so I can say that I made it in the centenarian year to it's sinking.

I'm a huge Titanic buff (actual event and Cameron's film) and from looking at your Belle dress I know you'll do this justice! :D

Plan (Posted 8th April 2012)

the materials I'm going to use is an ivory/creamy satin for the base of the dress, covered in a maching lace for the bodice.
Then I'm hoping to have layer upon layer of chiffon, hopefully an ivory/creamy gradient into pink and lilac. The top t-shirt layer will be a lilac chiffon, with a similar colour for the bodice which will be gathered. Then a dupion silk sash to hold it all in place!!

sounds confusing, lol. but I know what I mean ;D

Now I just need to get 4 cosplays out the way SO THEN I CAN START THIS ;D woot!
