|Time Taken :||about 10 minutes|
I was supposed to be one of 4 girls dressed as Sailor Princesses for the Auchi ball, only 2 of them never ended up coming to Auchi, one never made any cosplays and I didn't manage to finish making all of mine, this included. I belatedly decided that perhaps I shouldn't be trying to make a ballgown from scratch with a week to go, no sewing machine and zero sewing skills, having started sewing again for the first time in 5 years... oopsie, overambitiousness makes me fail a lot... *sweatdrops* So I ended up wearing my 6th year dance dress instead, forgetting that I'd lost 2 stone since wearing it, so it was a bit big... also, I forgot to adjust and pin on the wig as it was only the 2nd one I'd ever worn, so it fell off a bit...
I may eventually get around to finishing the proper princess dress...
The bandage isn't part of the costume, I was genuinely injured... ^^;
There's an image somewhere that's a bit like the 1950's cocktail dress theme, I think, where I got the idea from...
Black Lace (Artbook):
Auchinawa 2008 really was last minute con for me. I didn't get my ballgown started, let alone finished for the ball (again), so I made this the night before from an old shirt that I drew on the collar of, my new Neptune wig, S6 ball shoes and a vintage dress my gran gave me. It looked reasonably accurate despite this. The sleeves and collar didn't get lengthened because I was too tired and the beads shouldn't've been there, but I really didn't want to remove them.
