|Cost :||I forget that too, but I don't think it would have come to any more than £40|
|Time Taken :||I've quite honestly forgotten!|
|Well, it was the second costume I ever finished, but the first I wore to a convention! (It was my first convention too!)|
I chose to cosplay as Fay since I love him to bits and really wanted to go all out for my first convention so I bought my fabric and drew up my pattern and started to work on it (taking Textiles at GCSE was a good idea!), and my grandma actually finished it off for me while I was on holiday.
The shirt, which is really the only thing I had to make, was COMPLETELY handsewn because my failure of a sewing machine died a few days before I started work on it! It was made of a really nice thick satin, edged with blue ribbon, and the 'buckles' were made of Fimo! It didn't actually fasten around the sides - it pulled on over the head and fastened at the neck with a single hook and eye!
After Aya05 I decided to bring it along to AmeCon in 06 too, and with gran's help I modified it a bit so that it fit better and the mandarin collar didn't quite strangle me as much.
Finally this year I decided I would have to retire the costume since the sleeves were getting tight and You can only wear something like that so many times before you become a one-trick pony, so I bought some better gloves and entered it into to Masquerade along with my friends cosplaying as other Tsubasa characters.
After Amecon I got it home, removed the 'buckles' to keep a reminder of my first real cosplay, and threw the shirt away ;_;
I've kept the gloves and wig though ~_^
