|This was a costume I thought would be hard but turned out incredibly easy. I went out to help my friends shop and came with with everything but the bat, I even managed to find the blazer first try in a charity shop. |
The bat was made from a sheet of foam my dad acquired from work. We cut circles from the foam and glued them together to make the body of the bat, then cut holes in that and screwed up plugs of foam and shoved them into the holes, then trimmed them down to points. The entire thing was them covered in papier mache and then pained with poster paint. Finally, we coated the entire thing in PVC so the pain didn't come of on my hand.
The costume was easy but it was far to hot, it's vital flaw, though, was the skirt which despite being what was supposedly good quality, tore on the first day I wore it, making this a very short-lived costume, just lasting for Friday and my first trip round the dealers room. The costume got dumped, other then the wig which might come in some day...and the bat which went home with a friend where it will hopefully carry on beating people to death for a long time.
I picked this costume mostly because I can sing the theme tune all the way though, which has earned me a bit of a reputation. I also liked the idea of beating certain people to death.
