Just waiting on my jacket... (Posted 16th March 2012) This cosplay is actually done now. I'm just waiting on my jacket and knife arriving. I have already had one jacket in my possession, but thanks to a mix up with Amazon and NECA, it was the wrong one and I had to reorder from elsewhere and send that one back. I hate playing the waiting game, but I'm planning on a (temporary) wig test later on today. The wig I'm intending to use for now is in the picture, I just threw it on quickly the other day to see if I could get away with it or not. |

I've done it! (Posted 5th March 2012) All the bits and pieces are purchased for this, I'm just waiting for everything to turn up now. It's killing me. |

Oh I'll be at LFACC so definitely can't wait to see this. What kind of boots did you get? I bid on some on ebay the other day but they went for a few quid more than my top bid.
The boots I got were Oppo Reno ones. They were the cheapest I've seen in the same style (the jacket cost enough, I didn't want to break the bank lol). Waiting for everything to arrive now!
They look great. I really wanted the actual boots but they are way too expensive. Looking at a pair of Steve Madden boots now which are about a third of the price.
Oh yeah, the Steve Madden ones are great! :D I wish I could have afforded those ones instead, but I had to cut down a little on what I was spending.
I think yours look fine though. The SM ones are for someone who maybe isn't on a tight budget and the actual vintage shoe company ones are for someone who has won the lottery. I think I'll probably get the ones like yours as I'm definitely on a budget for mine too. Said I'll wait till April though as might see if I have the pennies for the Steve Madden ones closer to the time
Sorry to comment again but I have a few questions about the jacket? I'm planing on making my own as I don't have the money to buy one of the official ones. I was wondering if the inside and outside jackets are seperate or if the inner is sewn in? Any idea what the outside jacket is make from? Also does the orange on the inside of the inside jacket go round all the edges?
The two jackets can be separated, they're attached via a zip on each side of the chest. The outside jacket is some sort of nylon, I'm not very good at identifying fabrics I'm afraid, but perhaps one of my fellow con friends will be able to shed some light when I wear it at Mem next week. I'll let you know about that one. The orange on the edge of the hood, etc. does indeed go all the way around.

Just seen you completed outfit and you look absolutely awesome. I've just ordered my pattern for my jacket and my hoodie arrived today so hopefully going to get to work on it as soon as it arrives
Hey hun saw some pics of you at Mem in your Katniss gear and you looked fab. Just wanted to let you know if your doing this again at LFACC I'm hoping to have Peeta's arena stuff with me. I'm going to use the overjacket I make for Katniss but getting mens style cargo pants and already got the crew neck tshirt and blokes hoodie as well. You'll have to let me know which day you are doing Katniss and maybe we can get some pics

Not a problem. I had something similar happen at a con a few years ago. My boyfriend and I were dressed as brothers from a movie and someone was dressed as the characters sister. She bounded over and jumped my boyfriend and he brought her over to where I was and she jumped me as well. We became friends after that
