Costume Information

Cost : £66.50

For the KitaCon prom; I want to be elegant and beautiful and derptacular!

It was a hard choice between her and Mom Lalonde, they have totally different styles personalities but I'm very attracted to both of them! In the end Jade won out because I don't think I'd cosplay her at all otherwise and BAM big poofy dress!

We have a small group going now for KitaCon and hot damn, I can't wait! <3

Rose: SachikoYumi
Jade: Me
Dave: Dahlia

Ooh, nice! I won't be at Kita, alas, but I'm excited to see how this comes together through CI.

piecing together... (Posted 8th April 2012)

It's slowly coming together. Just finishing up the last bits and bobs now and preparing to add a whole hunk of lace and trim! Blaahhh I want it to be done already

The beads... NOT THE BEEADDDSSS!! (Posted 7th April 2012)

Hundreds and hundreds of beads! 2/4 panels beaded jdfkpe

One down... (Posted 5th April 2012)

Took me waaay way longer than expected. Mostly due to having to sew it 3 times out of 3 different kind of material.

Now to sew a bead at the centre of every single X. That's a size 8 shoe for comparison. The panel is 125cm long and.... 132cm wide at the bottom. FML.

skirt panel beginnings (Posted 2nd April 2012)

These are two of the six panels in the dress. I've sewn them together to make it easier to add the ribbon onto. The back panel will be the same size but covered in ruffles for the bustle to hang over. The from panel is slightly wider and has nearly two metres of duchess satin gathered to a point at the top 20cm wide... Wish me luck with that haha.

For now I'll be sewing on the first cross hatching ribbon sections. Ugsjdbdkdh

Corset thing complete (Posted 30th March 2012)

Another fake corset complete today, this might be the neatest thing I've ever sewn? It's fully lined with boning and edged in a strong cotton bias to keep it all together.

Hammered in all the eyelets too, so I just need to get some real string instead of leftover ribbon and search a couple of tutorials for lacing corsets! :D

Also this is my new crinoline! I opted out of making one this time, Beatrice's broke me and I didn't want to deal with the stress again. Managed to get this huge thing from eBay for about £20? It took over a month to arrive but it was worth the wait! All of the poof!!

Wig progress (Posted 30th March 2012)

I didn't really want to splurge on an entire new wig after the last one I bought arrived a different colour. So I got a clip on curly ponytail from a local hair supply shop and carefully clipped it up into my current Jade wig.

I really like the way it works! I'll to it a lot more carefully on the night, and I think I want to trim the fringe and feather the dropped locks, but otherwise I'm super happy! (pls to be ignoring the tired, makeupless face)

Corset thing detail (Posted 30th March 2012)

Taken by the light of my laptop screen. Classssyyyy.

Because I couldn't find any fancy silver trim that didn't look tacky as all hell, I got some lovely 7mm double satin ribbon, crisscrossed that and sewed a little pearlescent bead at each cross.... Wasn't so bad on the corset, but I have 4 floor length skirt panels to look forward to beading now =___=;;

You can actually see here, too, the colour of my amazing duchess satin. Hnnghhh so perfect.
