|I adore Amano's designs, and after playing FFIV I got completely hooked on the characters and story. Rydia instantly took place as my favourite Final Fantasy girl, and I am so looking forward to cosplaying her for the first time.|
This outfit shall be debuting at May 2012 Expo, with my friend as Amano Edge.
We'll be cosplaying them again in October 2012, but only for one of the days, and are hoping to have them perfected for then!
Amano is obviously the basis of this outfit, and so beads, sequins, and overall detail is going to be a signature to the style.
However, I had a look online for already existing cosplays of Amano Rydia, and have thrown together a load of inspired ideas from others into this outfit, because they are all absolutely gorgeous.
I want to give one design and outfit my particular recognition though, because I just look to this outfit in absolute awe, and I have taken a GREAT amount of inspiration for my own version from her. Elsch's Rydia is renowned online, and so this will be kind of a little inspired tribute to that outfit.
Go check it out, you really won't be disappointed!
I have decided to stick with the more lime green afair, however, to keep with the original artwork.
Spangle Skirt (Posted 22nd May 2012)
Beads.. oh my gosh this took me AGES.. X_x And I still want to do more to it! Perhaps for October when I bring this back.
Headdress Progress (Posted 2nd May 2012)
Right so my bird is done.. i.e. the many many feathers attached to the red flower. Also started attaching the draping beads! May take the one for my forehead up slightly, as it seems a bit too low to me.. Shall have to see! Many many mores beads to go! Shall hopefully have lots splaying out from the wig to make it seem magicalllllll! .. And her outfits are always so intricate and beaded anyway! XD
Also, capes are done! Shall pretty them up some more for October though ^u^ The stripey ones go quite well with the colour of my wig!
Beginning of the Many Capes (Posted 24th March 2012)
I've used quite light-weight material for the striped capes, as I'm hoping they'll be able to flow in any wind quite nicely.
The white capes have been cut, shaped and hemmed around the edges, and now I'm tackling the green stripes! All I can say is this is gonna take a while... XD 4 down, another 20 or so to go!
I have two of these style capes, and they're around 2 meters long each.
