| Amelia is my first original character costume, taken from my character in Sjbonnar's Steampunk novel, Flight of the Valkyrie! Go look it up and have a read on DA ^_^ And for some background information, read below an extract taken from the Memoirs of Count Louis de Theudubert~ Amelia works for the Royal Treasury and has been assigned to the HMS Valkyrie in order to keep watch over the loot which they collect as 50% of this belongs to the state and as such, the Treasury. She is an aristocrat and a career woman. Her father was a wealthy trader who was killed along with her mother when pirates attacked his ship, creating inner conflict for Amelia when she steps on board what is essentially a pirate ship. She does not have many friends, sacrificing companionship in order to run what she constantly refers to as a tight ship. At night Amelia reflects upon this rather lonely existence. She is good natured and caring at heart, but reminds herself that she must continue to enforce her authority and independence while in the company of others, lest they attempt to walk all over her and ruin everything that she had worked hard to achieve. Amelia undeniably has great respect for the Count who does his best to see no harm comes to others, yet commands the loyalty of his crew and captain’s them with order and intelligence. She sees him as the only person on the ship with whom she might actually be able to hold a reasonable conversation. However she refuses to allow him to interfere with her work, insisting that she takes her orders from the Military and not from him. Amelia wears a small ladies top hat, a dark red shrug top above a gorgeous corset. Around her waist hangs a swordbelt and rapier. She wears a bustle-skirt that is short at the front but long at the back, concealing a Deringer flintlock pistol which she hides in a garterbelt at her thigh. | |
