| This was a very challenging costume. I had previously watched Rozen Maiden and loved it. I decided to make this costume because it really appealed to me and also I knew no one at the London Expos had cosplayed as Shinku. I wanted to make it even more completed by making Detective Kun Kun, my first attempt at making a plushie. Detective Kun Kun was rather difficult to make. I started out making a smaller version of him but he was a little too small and then decided to make another one, much larger as well. Shinku's bonnet was the hardest as I have never made a bonnet before, plus I had to ensure that it would fit over the wig which I had bought. The shoes were the easiest as I did extensive research to find the exact shape and style as Shinku's and I found them and by adding a rose completed it. I loved wearing it and I know a lot of cosplayers at London Expo loved it too as I got a lot of photos take by other cosplayers at the expo and that was fun, never had that much attention before. | |
