| This was hauled together in a month like most of our stellar work, along with Dr Eggman. The main focus of this costume is that I wanted to make it out of something really battle worthy, something that Ivy would be proud to wear. I find looking at other Ivy's that the main fault with their costume is they use something like Spandex as their body suit fabric, and that's just too shiney for my taste. PVC was also out because I hate the stuff. And so, I ordered £200 worth of purple and black italian leather from the internet. I am such a cock when it comes to using expensive fabrics, I swear. I'd never used leather before, ever, but like all things cosplay and me, I decided that I would just learn. Fortunately my £200 sewing machine is stupidly high powered, and could go through leather like beautiful, beautiful butter. The boobs aren't real. I'm sorry to say. They look real though, so that's all that counts. They were made by buying a bra (from Primark!) and sewing the leather directly over the top and cutting it into the right shape. There's a lot of padding stuffed in there too. The shoes had to be made from a pair of 4 inch sandles from TK Max. I needed to get to 6 inches, so I added wood on the bottom, ducktaped them and covered them in leather. And glued soles on the bottom. They get me to exactly Ivy's height (I calculated it using references and ratios ^^; ) All the body suit and that was made from a pattern I constructed, and then sewn with the leather. Most of the armour attachments that have to be bent are funky foam, even though I hate the stuff. All of the other armour, like the glove are mount board. I FUCKIN' LOVE MOUNTBOARD. The gloves had to be handsewn (AND WERE RIGHT WANKERS) and I had to learn how to cast resin gems for the gem on the hand and the sword. The sword is mountboard again, and actually retracts properly when I pull the cord at the back. It makes me feel special, and makes others get funny feelings in thier no-no places. The sword has broken many times though, which makes me sad. I shall be fixing it for london expo though. | |

You looked amazing and your skit was just brillant :)
Hello! It's Sonia, one of the guest artists at Alcon, I don't know whether you remember me or not, but we had a looooong chat about cosplay and art and lots of stuff. Anyhow, I loved your skit at Alcon, and from the pictures, it seems it went down really well at Expo too ^_^ Your Ivy is absolutely awesome, that retractable sword/whip is genius. I did see you at Expo, but we were going in different directions (and I was in cosplay so you probably wouldn't have recognised me, haha). I thought you had one of the best cosplays at the entire Expo, personally.
damn this was epic!!! I totally did not see that twist coming in the skit XDDD
OMG i finally got to see this for real! it was amazing and you had the almighty blade too! i am your fan girl for life XD
Very sexily done! I loved it ^_^
I remember seeing this in person on the saturday. managed to talk to you and Eggman briefly, an amazing costume and well deserved win! Great job!
Thank you for all the kind comments! You guys make wearing skimpy outfits worthwhile!

OMG! *fanhugs* I loved your Ivy costume. You looked amazing and I loved the dedication you put into it. I hope you do wear your Soulcalibur costume again next year as I didn't manage any photos. I hope to do either Raphael (sc2) or if I'mn feeling very brave! Siegfried from Soulcalibur 4.
I will be wearing it again at Minami and hopefully Aya con- I didn't see you at London expo (I think) Who were you on both days?
I was Sephiroth with the plastic armour and freaky contacts on sat and then Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood on sun.
I'm going to Minamicon so I might put together Raphael for then. I doubt if I can manage SC4 Siegfried just yet (need more money shaped resorces). I would love pics with you guys.
I would love some pictures with you!
*can't wait until minami*
