Description
I originally wore this at Auchi but revamped it for Ame 2008 by redoing stuff like the wig, tail, bows, etc.

The dress was simple, Shido made it in about 3 hours from a pattern and modified it to attach the collar, puffed sleeves, etc. The sleeves have elastic inside to stop them from falling down too bad, not that that really helps at all, haha.

The apron was commissioned about a week before Auchinawa and arrived the day before. It looks really good and because aprons are a pain to make I didn't bother remaking it just for the sake of it. The waistband and bow was also part of the commission. At the back of the waistband, myself and Shido added the tail and extra velcro for security, which helped the tail stick up properly.
The apron is a little big though. When wearing it I safety pinned the apron to the dress to stop it from flopping and coming off! Oops :p

The front bow was revamped for Ame, and has a layer of interfacing between the fabric to help it stand up. The bell was bought a few years ago for Christmas and was easy to sew on.

The underskirt was made by Shido (again) with lace sewn around the outside. It's really accurate to the original design - and it's really comfortable to wear despite the elastic waist.

The original wig was awful so a new one was bought and styled properly. The wig was cut from a long blue/black wig bought from CosplayWig on eBay. the bow was attached at the bottom by sewing a bobble to a seperate bow, then it was tied in. New ears were made by me from foam, wire and fur then were sewn into the wig - which turned out to be surprisingly secure!
The tail was made by covering a tail bought elsewhere in fur and then sewing it together. Shido tried to make a tail last time and it turned out awful - buying one cheap and covering it worked much better.

The socks were bought from a shop in the market years ago and are the perfect colour. They're a little tight, but that helps keep them up longer!
There were two cute little bows sewn onto my shoes too. They're the same shoes as the ones for Haruhi, and have an elastic piece in the front that the bows were sewn to. They're easily removeable too incase I need them for anything else :)

Finally, the wand was made from a plastic star wand bought from a £1 shop years ago, some tubing, sculpey and paint. The electronic device was removed from the star, all the decorations were sanded off and then it was painted and then spray-painted to cover up splodges and lumps.
The tube was made from a clear plastic tube I bought and dribbled paint into. It had to be redone 3 times, and there was some cracking and bad coverage, but it was all on the back and was barely noticeable by the third coat. It was then attached to the original handle from the wand, which had been sanded off the original tube but fit perfectly.
Once everything was glued, the cat on the star was made from sculpey, baked then decorated. It's face smudged slightly when varnishing but it's awfully cute and the first thing I've ever successfully made from sculpey! :D

Wearing this at Auchi felt like a chore because it was so uncomfortable, hot and hard to walk in. The revamped version is so much more comfortable and easy to wear, and even on a hot day, didn't feel too hot at all :)
