Yayoi is, in my opinion, the only appealing character in LOVELESS. I liked the series, I liked the characters, but Yayoi is the only one who stood out to me. He has an interesting design, an interesting personality and is the source of pretty much the only comedy the series has to offer. Sooo.. for Ame 06, I decided I was going to cosplay him! I found the perfect wig - "Luna" by Amphigory, black fading down into white tips. Unfortunately they'd stopped shipping internationally and Katie Bair didn't have that wig in stock nor did they plan to at the time, so I had to get it redirected to the US then sent over.. a little more expensive but it was worth it :) The ears were given to Shido by a friend, so I nicked them for this. LOVELESS characters have very long thin ears, and they were perfect and comfy to wear. I sprayed the tips of them white with white hair spray. The tail was made from wire and a feather boa (lol) I bought in Jesmond.. it cost about £10 for the boa, but it was perfect to use. The feathers are small enough and gradiate between black, grey and white without actually looking like a feather boa strapped to my butt. All it needed was to be wrapped around the wire a few times until the white was at the tip and then sewn into place. I attached it to a belt by twisting the wire around the back of the belt.. it wasn't too secure, but it let it bounce around realistically. The glasses I bought in Japan when I was first thinking of cosplaying him. They're cosplay-specific glasses with plain lenses so they don't affect my eyesight while wearing them, and aside from the gold frame they're the right shape and size for Yayoi. The jumper is a shirt/jumper combo thing that's about 3 sizes too big for me I got at Primark for £6, lol. It's the perfect colour and aside from the fact Yayoi doesn't have cuffs on his, it's the perfect style too. Jeans are.. jeans. And I was too lazy to hunt for any better shoes so I wore the ones I travelled down to Ame in in all of their bright green glory. I'm not sure if I'd ever wear this to a convention again.. a grand total of about 3 people recognised me outside of the LOVELESS group when I was wearing this, and even then I'm doubtful some of the group even knew who I was, lol. I'd love to rewear it for a photoshoot someday though to get some decent-ish photos, even if it is just to show off the wig.
