| I was undecided about a Gears of War cosplay for so long but after playing GoW 3 I'm decided. I've always wanted to do one of our favourite red shirts the Carmine brothers and I've decided on Clay. Aww, bacon :D Finally finished this cosplay and I loved being at MCM. I loved the look on people's faces when I said I was in the Gears of War group. Amazed that we won Best Group Cosplay at May MCM 2012 and a big thanks to the judges for choosing us ;) Our Masquerade performance | |

Finitio (Posted 26th May 2012) After some late night painting in the hotel and a lot of worrying, the armour is complete. Had a great day wearing it. Only a couple of issues (other than dying of dehydration), two of the nuts on the boot fell off and one of them went missing. So thanks to the Cosplay HQ for having the emergency repair stuff. Managed to break a strap off the side while enthusiastically jumping onto the stage but all in all it went very well. |

All packed for MCM (Posted 24th May 2012) Armour is all packed up for MCM. I had to buy a suitcase especially to fit it in as it is massive! Good old Argos only had 1 large suitcase left. |

Bullet time! (ok I know they're shells) (Posted 22nd May 2012) Ok with MCM fast approaching and an ulcer quickly developing the costumes going well and i'm getting to the point where I'm now moving on to the little additions such as shotgun shells. All I have to do is complete a bit of painting and the belts and I'm finitio. Yay! |

Base colour of the armour complete (Posted 21st May 2012) I've finished applying the base coat of the armour. It's Ford Black colour but for some reason the torso and helmet came out a lot darker than the boots, no idea why. |

The shoes are massive! (Posted 17th May 2012) Complete construction of the booties, they are massive. I plan to put some skater trainers in them to stop my feet moving about inside them. |

Mew armour (Posted 15th May 2012) Hmmm...transportation is going to be a bit of an issue. My armour fills the whole bag and that's before I've even put the boots, grieves, bracers, helmet or lancer near it. After a weekend of not feeling well at all, I am behind. OH SHIIIIII... Oh and my armour looking like the Pokemon mew was totally unintentional. Hopefully it won't anymore after it's painted :D |

Helmet Mk2 (Posted 15th April 2012) Much happier with the blacker, less purple helmet with LEDs galore! 13 just in the helmet. I need to get cracking, not long now, and I've not even started painting yet. |

Lighty up eyes (Posted 2nd April 2012) Made the eyes out of polymorph and stuck some LEDs behind them. They are looking good |

LEDs, LEDs and more LEDs! (Posted 25th March 2012) Carmine has a redonkulous number of lighty up bits. At least I'm safe in the knowledge my battery system should last as it was running overnight with my fans and LEDs all hooked up. Nearly finished the torso construction. Only 2 months left! |

Hot helmet is hot! (Posted 27th February 2012) Started work on the helmet, I'm a bit iffy about the general size and shape, so may do it again with some thinner foam but I think overall it's not a bad first attempt |

Body (Posted 12th February 2012) Wellity, wellity, wellity, I've finally started on my body armour, I'm loving working with Eva foam, it's so easy to work with. I still need to glue it all together though and start shaping it which is the bit I'm most worried about apart from the painting. |

It has begun! (Posted 15th January 2012) Finally gotten started on my Carmine cosplay! I've cut out all the parts for one boot out of EVA foam floor tiles just to do the other one. Ignore the purple-ness :P |

Thanks, I'm not sure when I'm going to get time to work on this but if I get it done near Expo I'll try and make it as I was planning to go to Expo sometime next year anyway.
Well we are working out how to make the COG armour so if you need any ideas feel free to ask ^^ i'm not expert when it comes to armour but i have friends that are and have given me lots of suggestions =] x.
Definetly want to get as many COGs as possible for when we do ours =P
Mass group anyone? =P
@FusionRose cool, thanks. I'm not 100% sure what to make it out of yet, I was thinking EVA or Plastazote for the armour and maybe foam or cardboard for the helmet.
@Numta3 Yeah I'd love a mega group. Looking at all the Gears cosplays appearing on here I definitely think we could get a good group together.
Pity you guys couldn't split yourselves into two and then we could get Gears and Locusts :P
Yeah gears and locust would be epic haha doubt im going to have RAAM done anytime soon though =P
im looking forward to this, and seeing everyone elses gears cosplays too.
I am really looking forward to seeing this costume (or pictures of it as I won't be at Expo next year)it is great to see so many gears cosplays appearing. If Numta3 does get RAAM done for 2013 I might have to beg you to back me up against the Locusts ^^

Yeah, as him above ^ said, we were really impressed with how consistent all the costumes were - large groups often have a problem with matching up well and you guys did a great job of it! The whole group looked like a lot of fun :)
Thanks again guys! Well chuffed with the quality of everyone's cosplays as well. It was great fun with an army of us cutting through the crowds and struggling down the stairs ;)
