Description
This the Royal Dress (Queensland dress Overseas) from Alice Madness returns. Materials: Red Bridal Satin, Black Bridal Satin, White Bridal Satin 60 yards of various trim 4 Spools of thread Alene's Super Fabric Glue Rinestones Lots of notions This dress took quite a long time to make. I did not want to miss the details. In the game it has a lot of detail and richness. The Skirt is about 4 yards pleated into the bodice. It has a separate underskirt. the Checks, Hearts, Diamonds and Spade is all Appliqued on. the trim on the Bodice is about 90% hand sewn. Lots of little tiny pearls too. I used a crinoline underneath to create fullness in the skirt. The Sleeves are done in a "Snow White" style and stuffed with tulle to make them stiff. The bow is reinforced with Buckram to also make it stand up better, It could really use some wire which I may add before I wear it again. I'm not really happy with the Skull in the back and want to recast it in a sturdier material. It got smushed pretty bad at DCOn. I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the dress. I was also happy that people did recognize the dress at the convention. This dress will stay in my costume rotation for about a year or two before I retire it.
