Sephirayne - 12th October 2011 This is looking so epic. Love the shape to the pauldron. How did you manage to get such a great curve to it?
Sketch McDraw - 12th October 2011
The main body of the paldron is made from EVA foam (the darker coloured one) you can put it in the oven n heat it up n then bend it n hold it into the shape/position you want until its cooled down then it maintians that sape, though to get to bend/tighter i cut a few thin slices out of it n then pushed n glue gunned the edges together, then i covered the joins up with micro tape as its a thin fabric like tape n will let me cover it in watered down pva glue when sealing the foam.
The rest of it is made from 5mm thick craft foam doubled upn just bent into shape n glue gunned on, then the beading /trimming is just thin strips of the same craft foam n thhen went around with the same tape to cover up all the join lines from the different layers of foam.
Anonymous - 13th October 2011 This is looking fantastic, such great shapes and detail!
Sephirayne - 14th October 2011 Thanks for the input. Must try out this eva foam stuff. It does sound good. I use Cintra for my armour but it is getting expensive to ship. So looking for alternatives. I love what you have done with your Cloud pauldron. Can't wait to see it in person.
Sketch McDraw - 15th October 2011 My mate gave me a coule of sheets of the stuff, i'll find out what website he got it from n i'll let you know as it was like 10 sheets for £20 n their pretty big.
Sephirayne - 15th October 2011
Awesome. Thank you.
Btw, the finished pieces look amazing. Well done.
Anonymous - 15th October 2011 Good grief, that armour is phenomenal! Fantastic work!
Manticore Arts - 16th October 2011 It is just fantastic. Its hard to keep up with him on this. ;_; Husband why you do this? lol
Anonymous - 17th October 2011 God, this special armed glove is cool
birds-hate-flying - 17th October 2011 That gauntlet is fantastic. I love how you used the waste tank attachments for the screw/bolt details, it's good thinking and the result is excellent. I'd wish you luck with the rest of the costume, but I don't think you're going to need it! All very promising.
MangaChild - 17th October 2011

Nomes - 19th October 2011 This looks amazing! It's so useful watching the work in progress. I'm picking up lots of tips and ideas.

Angelphie - 31st October 2011 Fantastic work on the armour, sword and leather pieces, they're spot-on and beautifully made. I was impressed with the entire costume at Expo!
Sketch McDraw - 1st November 2011 Thank you! Im actually really happy with how the armour came out, particularly the pauldron as it was alot more detailed than my Zack Fair pauldrons and how i managed to get the bolts to look right.
Nomes - 1st November 2011 Like I said on Saturday, this is a stunning piece of work. No matter what you sat, the stitching looks perfect. All your lines are so clean.
j_mercuryuk - 1st November 2011 Wow...this is just...wow. Amazing Cloud, it looks fantastic. I love everything about it, especially the armour and the belt/braces. It's just so clean, detailed and realistic.
Sketch McDraw - 1st November 2011 Sewing Machine for all the visible stitch lines, and then tones of supper glue to stick it all together!! lol
Donna - 1st November 2011 Amazing wig!
Sketch McDraw - 1st November 2011 My friend styled it for me, she did an amazing job! :D
Anonymous - 1st November 2011 This looked so fantastic, particularly all the details on things like the pauldron, it's all very crisp and neat.
Manticore Arts - 3rd November 2011
Indeed- the Best Cloud I have ever seen. Kyle even does a awesome job owning the AC Clouds as well.
Again I've seen all the work up close and at hand, and the craftsmanship on the armour and belt work is beautiful. I can't get enough of it Cosband.
Manticore Arts - 3rd November 2011 And if you look carefully on the detail at the back of the bracer- the circular section that joins the bracer into a Y has extrusions and little indents. Same thing with the Bustersword. Such beautiful. Craftsmanship in the handle, the tang, and the blade itself
birds-hate-flying - 3rd November 2011 ...yeah you totally didn't need luck: this is all pure, deliberate, skill. Really impressed with this costume. Your fine craftsmanship and attention to detail is obvious throughout. Excellent.

WarriorTeddy - 8th November 2011
Best Cloud of all time, OF ALL TIME! XD
Will need to pick your brains on how to make the arm metal thingy on your left wrist. Barrett has very similar armour on his hands :)
Sketch McDraw - 8th November 2011
I made it from a cut down pringles tube n then wrapped strips of 5mm thick craft foam on it to build it up n then used real bolts n washers.
feel free to add me on facebook, i have a whole picture folder with how i made each bit of my cosplay especially the armour :)
