|IT IS FINALLY FINISHED OMG I THOUGHT THIS ONE WAS GOING TO KILL ME. |
It was actually all pretty easy apart from that DAMNED WIG. I ended up buying one short blonde wig and one long one, ripped the long one apart and dyed the wefts with acrylic ink and rubbing alcohol. Between the ink, alcohol and the spray bottles I used to apply the damn stuff it probably would have been easier and cheaper to buy individual wigs, tear them apart and sew them together. I kind of like how the coloured ink looks sprayed over the blonde though, makes it look slightly more natural. As natural as a pink, red and purple wig CAN look.
The loose wefts from the long wig then got sewn on to one side of the short wig, which was trimmed to make it look suitably buzz-cutty. I had to pin the short side in place so it wouldn't ride up too much. The whole thing is tight and unbalanced and IT. FREAKING. HURTS. But hey, it looks pretty so that's all that matters, right? Actually I bound my chest down with bandages, since Del is usually drawn as being very young looking and flat-chested, which was also very uncomfortable. -_-
Also, this cosplay made me get over my fear of using contact lenses. I am far too proud of that. ^_^
