| ~Edit~ I'm keeping this in 'In Progress', (but not in that section on CI) as there is so much to improve on this and it will be improved for the next time I wear this. FINALLY!!! I have been dying to post this up for months now (I’ve been counting down the days until me and MC agreed to post these up). Basically I went through a SP phase and really wanted to do something SP, but at the time I was working on my costumes for Kitacon and couldn’t free myself from that so instead I started drawing SP version of the FFVIII crew. By the time Minamicon came round I have a few if them done and showed MC, who promptly approved and said she wanted to do the version of Selphie. So we decided to get a group together for Amecon 2012. The group so far stands at (and we welcome anyone else who wants to join): Squall: Toshiki Len (maybe) Rinoa: j_mercuryuk Selphie: Messengercat Irvine: Quistis: Tif Zell: Wildarms Rudy Ellone: SamanthaKaiba Laguna:Ryanontoson Seifer: FF Zidane Raijin: Dalbir Fuijin: Natsumi Edea: Pandora Ultimecia:Jenwots FFIX Knight of Pluto: Just Bob | |

I am both looking forward to and dreading those wings, they will be impressive when they're done. The jacket I still adore and gleefull look forward to seeing.
I know what you mean, but though I original wanted to do feathers, I'm not sure if that's too un-steampunk.
The design looks absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to see more progress!!! <3
I love this design of her...cannot wait to see this in person...
Thank you, I'm glad you like the design :D I'm really looking forward to getting started on this cosplay, and to meeting up with an amazing group :D
This is a lovely idea the design is very cool!! X3 can't wait to see how it progresses!
I LOVE that design, looks really incredible and suits her so much!
Those wings are going to be something special. Regarding an earlier comment you made: I don't think feathers are too "un-steampunk"; perhaps you could lightly airbrush some tones onto them with dark paint? That could give the feathers a bit of a grimy feel, which would be in keeping with the oldschool cogs and gears you have in the wing frames.
That's good to hear birds-hate-flaying. Funny you should suggest that, it had occurred to me, but I was thinking of painting them silver (with special feather paint) and then doing that. I think I will try both and see how it turns out, but you've made me feel better about the wings now. Thank you
oh, then the feathers would look like they are made from antique silver! Yes, your idea of using silver paint as a base and then toning sounds very promising. Glad you're feeling more confident about the wings; I'm excited to see what you come up with.
This is an awesome idea! I've got a renewed fixation on steampunk since I introduced my boyfriend to it at last expo. FF characters are cosplayed a lot so it will be cool to see people doing something a little bit different with it! :)
Thank you :D I agree, it'll be fun to do something different with the FF characters. You can join us if you like :D If you're going to Amecon, we'd be happy to have more people joining us.
