| I became a Holmesian over the summer after reading the novels and it was the best move I've ever made. So basically I had to cosplay Sherlock Holmes and I did some research on costumes before stumbling across this contemporary style of the detective... Which made me want to cosplay him a thousand times more as I just ADORE peacoats. I got my costume ready, forced EmosLastKiss into cosplaying John Watson and that's basically how this costume came about. Coat was bloody difficult to make, though, and I didn't get it to flair out at the back of the coat like I had hoped. ...also in the process, me and EmosLastKiss compared our lives to Holmes and Watson's and could not stop laughing at the similarities, so I call this a success. lmao. | |

Cosplay Meet up 11th February (Posted 17th February 2012) So, me and EmosLastKiss attended the Leeds Cosplay Group meet up on the 11th of February and decided to cosplay Sherlock and John respectively. Let me just say now, I was so chuffed with how my hair turned out this time. It was in need of a haircut before (and still does now, to be frank) but it actually turned out okay. Anyway! I'd bought a new scarf and edited my coat and Char had bought a new jumper so we were really looking forward to it. Bought chocolate hedgehogs too and our friend, LuciaDuvant, cosplayed Sherlock too so it was great tormenting John with her. Sadly, I'd had too much sugar and our brains sort of blanked out (plus, my violin's in for repairs at the moment due to a faulty string </3) so we couldn't think of any 'professional' photos to do... I'd even brought a deerstalker. We were going to do domesticated ones, but ran out of time there too. One day I will take a proper photo of this costume with the coat and the leather gloves and the scarf and the deerstalker (okay maybe not the deerstalker) even if it kills me! If anyone wants to give us suggestions in the mean time that would be appreciated tonnes, you have no idea. Until then, enjoy this unexpected photo of us two being derps as per usual but in a way that reminds me of the silhouettes of the pair. I would also like you to know that on nearly every photo of us that was taken this day, Char has made sure to comment on them saying something along the lines of '...moarJawncreys' or '/moar reichenbach feelings' so I think it went rather well. Sadly none of the taxi photos worked - they looked like they would have been decent if it wasn't so dark. lmao. |
