Mary at Barrhead

Mary on the Float1

Costume Information

Cost : £30-£40
Time Taken : been at it since last year (just go back to it now and then) its about 85% done

so its not 100% finished its still a working progress

Pretty much everything has been made from scratch. except the corset belt, gloves and Wig.

The Top
ok so it was just a piece of voil cut to the shape of one of my shirts. i havent put buttons up the back i can get mine on and off my head without all the extra hassle for the moment

The Skirt
there are two parts to this, i have a long under skirt from an old wedding dress i found in a charity shop, (i used it a few years ago as Gissellle from Enchanted) then the top layer of voil to match the Top. i had all intentions of sewing both onto elastic but i dont have time or a sewing machine
so i glue gunned it on :)

*NB. do not glue gun on to elastic you are not going to have an elastic skirt and it scratches like hell!*

The Hat
made with some Galvanised wire, Tulle and the voil from the skirt,

the old trusty white £7 shoes i got in a wee shop in glasgow these have been used for so many costumes now but they need a good clean

I wore it for Halloween in 2010
and on the Disney Float in Barrhead (
summer 2011)which won Best float 2011 :)
