I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! HUZZAH! (Posted 25th July 2009)

I have finally got close to finishing this cosplay, WOOOT!

I have had to repaint the armour as the paint was rubbing off whilst I was affixing it to the Zentai, using velcro and a hot glue gun when needed (spandex is not as thick as you'd hope in that respect). But now it's almost done, just need to do one more coat of blue on two pieces, and the silver edging on a couple more then it's all done! WOOOOOO!

I have all the bits for the lance pretty much now, apart from a plank to cut the blade from, but I have a broom pole and a stair Bannister spindle so soon it shall be constructed -and- compactible for ease of transportation...WIN!

Then all that's left is to cut and style the lush blue wig that came through yesterday, complete with matching extensions for the ponytail.

YAY FOR ONE ALMOST COMPLETE COSTUME!....only one and a half left to go *sigh*

Pauldrons of win!!!! (Posted 5th July 2009)

Well I have almost finished cutting the armour out of Craft foam now! I just need to do the back plate and the groin plate now.

I have started affixing the boots together, though have saved adding the back heel parts until I have the Zentai, it should arrive sometime soon I hope. Thinking I will cut up the flip flops and glue gun the two parts straight onto the Zentai.

I have saved glueing and painting most of the armour till I get the zentai and some velcro with which to attach it all. Though today I have sprayed and painted the Pauldrons for the shoulders. Though I know he has a very clean polished metal, I have gone for a dryburshed silver on black type effect as I like the way it looks and I think it gives a pretty good metal effect!
I have done the same on the boots.

Here are some photos I took of the progress so far

Armour (Posted 26th June 2009)

Okay so now I have returned home from the wonderful land of Wales I can begin starting on my cosplay. I have spent tonight working on cardboard armour templates for this one, I thought it might make the outfit look more interesting instead of just the normal lines on a zentai.

after almost finishing the leg armour templates I have come to the conclusion that I will not be able to move or sit down....well if I do sit down I will have to have my legs out straight/or at odd angles. It is going to be an interesting day!

I am thinking I shall extend some of the shapes here and there to preserve a bit more of my dignity and modesty than perhaps the character would....what's that I hear you cry a cosplayer -with- modesty and dignity PAH!....well Im going to attempt to have such a thing....time will tell if Im successful

Wig = FAIL! (Posted 22nd June 2009)

Well seeing as I now have less than 60 days in which to create this and two other cosplays (OH THE JOY!)

I thought it was about time I actually got off my arse and did something with this. So I thought, I know! I'll look for a wig, that's simple.

Lancer has the most annoying hair style for wig hunting I swear...I can't find anything anywhere...If I could find one that wasn't so short that I could use, but was right colour then I could attempt a style with scissors and hairspray job (despite my fear of chopping up wigs), though alas it is not to be so!

WOE! will I ever find one suitable?

Shoulder Armour - Take One! (Posted 9th April 2009)

Well seeing as I have vast amounts of time on my hands, what with being on holiday from Uni and also being a procrastinator extraordinaire in terms of my work, I decided to make a start on the armour for this cosplay.

I've only really looked at a mock-up of the armour using a cereal box I found in our recycling bin but hey, its a start and I wanna get the shapes right for each bit before i start to think about making them out of craft foam.

Anyways, I think I got the shape mostly right, they just need to be a whole lot wider. Im gonna try and find some bigger bits of cardboard that I can hack up and try and make a better one, if I succeed I shall take a progress shot...somehow.
