Description
For my second costume I upped the difficulty level sharply, creating my own robes without the help of dressmakers patterns or how to guides. The Robes were created using Black and red cotton/polyester with a purchased Gryffindor patch added on for an added touch. For the school uniform I sewed lengths of red and gold ribbon around the kneck, cuffs and waist of a v kneck grey jumper and purchased a grey skirt in a similar shade. The tie was made using an off cut of red material I had left over from the robes. Following the pattern of an old school tie I used a heat and bond technique to affix it. The gold stripes were drawn on with fabric marker. I created a variety of props for the costume including a prefect badge, S.P.E.W badges and wizarding currency all made using painted cereal box cardboard. The most expensive part of the costume was a replica wand I purchased from noble collections wich cost an impressive £30. the wand was well weighted, realistic and beautifully presented in an Olivanders box. I would most definately recomend it to any cosplayer.

Thanks, the ebay option probably would have been easier but I took a gamble in making them I'm glad someone other than me thinks they look good.
