but, basically my suitcase arrived this morning and it's really coooool. A bit big but never mind. hehe.

Yesterday I spent the day handwashing, drying, washing dry, scrubing... etc, cutting apart and re sewing the jacket. Well, even though loads of colour comes out in the water it's not any lighter. I have washed it again this morning .. twice and now it's in the sun.. I hope it fades... Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee!! I can't bleach it because of the fabric.. damnnit! It seemed to work yday but in day light it looks more black..

Anyways, I also cut and re sewed the shirt.

I will make a more detailed journal about this soon as I have photos of most things I did. But I really must try and get stuff done...

I managed to get to the charity shops in our village. The Blue Cross one is always filled with stuff. It's great. I got a black jacket I can try and edit.. It's not great but I'm not too fussed. I also got a light grey shirt which i thought it'd dye but...

I got to my sisters and tried them on to see how I'd need to alter them. The shirt is huge and the jacket a bit short. but I can work with it.

Oops realised the jacket said DRY CLEAN ONLY!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I wanted to wash it loads of times and other things to make it fade to a more grey colour. Meh..... So anyways, my sister said to put it on a handwash cycle. She has a wayyy too funky washing machine. Put the two items in together, and the black ran from the jacket making the shirt a darker grey - YES! The jacket was slightly lighter. I'm seeing what they are like in the morning, leaving them to dry over night. We'll see.. I didn't get a photo of what they were like before so I could compare, but never mind. I need way too much LUCK for these bits to work.

I need to: make the shirt smaller.
take off the collar on shirt.
add buttons/change buttons on jacket.
button holes on collar.
what else??
make jacket lighter/faded.
take out lining.
make sleeves a bit longer.
aghhh there's a lot of work. I hope I have time to get this done to some 'okay' standard. YIKES....

WIG UPDATE... (Posted 23rd October 2011)

I cut the wig...... I cut and have quick sewed some hair in other places...
And it's not very good ........... It will be fine for the photos i want to use it for on Friday, but I don't think Tom will be coming round expo... I dunno, he might.. I just need to move the lower layers up and then trim the very bottom of the wig. On my neck. I have tucked it under in the photos to the side as I didn't know what i wanted to do and I don't want to mess it up without thinking about it.

This will be far from perfect, but I just want it for Friday SOOOO much. Whatever state it's all in.

EDIT: All cutting and resewing done. I need to sew the layers i moved a bit better tomorrow. But it's done to the best I can...

Wahooooooooo I found a suitcase which is quite nice size and design. So I have purchased it and the ladys were EXTREMELY helpful and understanding and are getting it to me by Thursday :D Wahoooo! Now then, I need a grey shirt and jacket.... *thinks* Hurrry up and arrive!!! EEK! hehe
I have an old shirt of my partners but it's a blue colour.

When I bought stuff for Snapey, I had to buy a pck of 2 trousers and a pack of 3 socks. I'm going to double up 2 pairs of socks and I'm using the other pair of trousers.

I ironed out the front crese. Then cut them to just under my knee. I then tacked both sides of it. Then used some iron hem tape on the top edges. Just waiting for it to cool then I can try them on and steam iron the rest of the creases.

I know what I want to do on the wig now. Cutting wise, I'm just picking up courage to do it.

Wig just arrived.. It's not amazing, but I like it except I have no idea how to cut it!!!! HELPPPPPPPPPPPP.
Yes, I know how to use scissors and shavers.. I mean I don't know what parts to cut.... EEK! IT's really longggg at the back too.

SO, we have so much junk in the sheds, and I KNOW we still have a suitcase of my Grans.. But, can we find it .. NO!! Damn it! The cheapest on ebay is £25 and it looks like it will just fall apart before it gets here. Only one the right sort of style and that would arrive in time. I asked a few family friends who 'might' have one but they all said no.. Bumbumbumbumbummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmms! and more BUMS! It's weird how the more basic cosplays are harder to find things for. Ok ok, so a 1920's-1940's suitcase isn't the most obivous of things to find.. But I can't even find a shirt the right sort of colour.

On the plus side, the wig is on it's way. Fingers crossed.

ok i've bought one of ebay... i'm not going to be happy with it.. but... i can hope. i think it's going to end up being a tacky fancy dress one.. but we will see.... i'm not sure... only one that's got parting on the correct side and that looks like i could cut and style it a bit better. I have probably made a mistake buying it but... only one that will arrive in time for next friday. need to find the suitcase. If I can't then I will be running around the streets screaming!!!

I am stressing myself. It's so annoying, I can't find a decent wig.. they are either totally the wrong colour or the 'parting' is on the wrong side. I can cut wigs if it's simple cutting but i don't think I could re-root them. Then again it can't be that hard can it? Cut over a line of the net and sew it to the other side instead... Is it that simple???? i just don't want to buy one and mess it up.. or it not arrive on time. I would have just cut my hair but I'm using it for alice on the sunday. My hair does grow quick, but not THAT quick... saying that, it's a bit too thin at the moment anyways.

Any ideas?? i saw some nice ones on Coscraft.. but again 'parting' on wrong side. Im thinking though, Tarans wig I styled to the other side... so maybe i can do ti... :/

I was mega excited about this one. But sadly I haven't been able to get all the uniform together. He won't be coming to expo.. That was until, I decided to go to Platform 9 3/4 again (I assume it's still there???????? It better be. They would be madddd crazy takng that away EVER!!!!) when we are londons for expo, I thought i'd take casual Pansy.. Butttt, then i thought, well Tom would have gone to hogwarts via Platform 9 3/4's.. sooo I'll just make a casual one of him. I'm basing it on the images we see in the films where Dumbledore speaks with him in the orphanage.. It was in muggleland right?!?!? Wahoooooooooooo!! I might wear this in Friday of Expo too then.. We will see :)
I have an old suitcase/brief case like he would have had. I'm thinking he would have only had his diary and maybe a spare set of clothes? Infact, HOW DID HE GET ALL HIS SCHOOL GEAR??? WHO PAID FOR IT??????????????? Someone will know, and I'm probably being a bit dumb asking that.

Damn it! I can't find a blazer near to the colour and style (with big top pocket/slit side pockets and woolen.. I found some wool flannel for £40 but.. well... i guess if i want it to the style i'll have to try and make it. damn. Struggling to find a decent wig too.
