I have everything for this cosplay now, the shoes are currently dyeing and all I really need to do is fix a few things up.

But it's practically finished, yay!!

Slightly disappointed (Posted 11th October 2011)

My coat arrived but I'm slightly disappointed with it. It's not as green as it appeared in the photo when I bought it and in general that coat itself is kinda disappointing.
I haven't tried it on with the rest of the cosplay yet though so maybe it will look better that way.
Now I've bought it I feel kinda stuck with it, I don't want to end up wasting it if I bought another one :(

Wow, I'm writing a lot in my journal lately. I like to record everything though XD

I now have the horns fixed to a headband!
Ignore the things under the horns, they're just there to add extra stability and won't be seen when worn under the hat.

I found a great coat on Ebay to use for Nepeta for a good price so I'll be buying that one :D

I'm currently STILL looking for a decently priced coat to buy for Nepeta which is turning out harder than expected but my dad does have a coat which he said I can borrow for the cosplay if I don't find a better one in time.

It's not perfect and it's a bit too padded for my liking but it wouldn't look too off and the colour is just right.

I'm going to see if I can find a Nepeta coat online.. I was trying to look in stores before going to the internet and I did find a perfect one but it was like £40 so I'll just have to see if I can find a cheaper one online.

Progress/test photos and hat update (Posted 5th September 2011)

I took some progress/test photos, here's one of them~
The horns aren't attatched to a headband yet so I'm just holding them on and I didn't paint my arms since it was pointless as when the cosplay is complete (with the coat), I won't need to paint my arms.
It made me realise that I need to put more layers on and brighten the Leo symbol on the t-shirt, it looks fine in real life but apparently photos wash it out.

I've sorta figured out how to fix the hat! For these photos, I just tied it at the back, but I'm pretty sure I can fix that properly now that I know it's possible.

I'm currently sewing the details onto this hat but I'm not really happy with it at the moment. It doesn't sit on my head properly and it's too big. I'm hoping I'll be able to fix that somehow by taking it in or something ;___;

Finished horns! (Posted 4th September 2011)

I finished the horns! They're not perfect but I'm pretty happy with them.

(The red paint wasn't dry yet when I took this photo so that explains why it looks a little odd where the light is reflecting on it ^^;)

Wig (Posted 30th August 2011)

I was originally planning to buy another wig for this cosplay but I may possibly just use the one that I used in the make-up tests if it looks good enough with the hat to save me from buying yet another short black wig (it seems as though I'm going to be building up a collection of different short black wigs..)

I have made Nepeta's horns but I'm still waiting for them to dry XD I can't wait to paint them!

Shopping (Posted 28th August 2011)

I went out shopping yesterday and managed to get quite a lot of stuff for this cosplay!

I got:
Some air dry clay stuff for the horns and red and yellow paint
Grey trousers (I was originally going to just use my grey jeans but I'm glad that I found these because they're much more appropriate and as well as being purrfect they were also only £5!)
Some black fingerless gloves
Black lipstick
Yellow nail varnish

I'll hopefully start on the horns today and put the details on the hat too if I can find some leftover white material somewhere!

I have made the basic blue part of the hat but I just need to add the nose and eyes onto it and I will shape it to fit better once I have the wig and horns complete.

Bought the material for the hat and tail, a plain black t-shirt and fabric paint to use on it :D
Not completely sure if the fabric paint is going to work on the black but I'm hoping so, it might just take a lot of layers.
